Val d'Or Estate
Good location close to town. Quite expensive for what is offered with self catering but breakfast is included. Gas stove had no gas or oven gloves . No dish towels to wipe a surface. Outdoor gas braai dirty with no bottle . Basics like salt and pepper not included. Owners need to pay more attention to detail in self catering. Breakfast staff very kind.

Had an amazing stay at Val d’Or Estate! Staff were very kind and friendly. The room had everything I needed and more. Very comfortable. Beautiful view too!

Val d'Or Estate
We’ve had a pleasant stay (November ‘21) with some room for improvement.Overall Val d’Or Estate is a well maintained place with very large guest rooms. The staff is super friendly and we always felt welcome. Great location as you are near city center with lovely restaurants (10mins drive) and cafés and bars and very close to surrounding wine farms (great for tastings and tours).Breakfast was rather ok-ish compared to other places we have stayed and the pool was pretty dirty unfortunately. As the pandemic was still effecting business and travel, this could also have been a reason for that. Bathrooms could need an upgrade.

Nice places to visit. So peaceful that even a power-cut doesn't irritate you. The food is fresh an Devine. I think these are places where life has a meaning. Atmosphere is relaxed and everyone is happy. Did not experience the bitterness and anger often experienced around JHB and PTA

Very friendly and welcoming staff! Room was huge and clean, with a nice big bathroom. Great breakfast. Only complaint was the unpaved road up nearly took out the bottom of our car. Might want a high clearance vehicle to drive it comfortably.

Fantastic and friendly place. The staff were truly professional, polite and helpful. The accommodation was large and clean. The bed was big and very comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and tailored to your taste. Two swimming pools to choose from. Most recommended.

Billed as a luxury room which left me very disappointed. Was expecting views of the mountains from website photos which was a reason to choose this hotel and the rooms shown are very much better furnished than ours. Our accommodation is not shown. The grounds are nice and views spectacular - from the right position. Staff at breakfast very pleasant. The food ok. I would not recommend the guest house from our experience .
