After competitively tendering a sizable amount of renovation work, and having now come through this experience unscathed whist still living in our home, we can honestly say that the exercise has been very successful. We had set Marco a tight schedule together with an expectation of high quality finishes throughout, and importantly, our requirement for pro-active project management and in being kept fully informed at all times.Marco was true to his word and all of his trades people were clearly of exceptionally quality which is borne out by the high standards they achieved. His team seamlessly worked around our needs of living in the home whilst the work was underway with Marco around to ensure the tight schedule was kept. Marco and his team at MK Building Solutions helped The P&C at Woodlands Primary School build a new bike enclosure area at the school. MK Building Solutions were excellent to work with to build the Garden Studio I had designed for my backyard. They provided the best quote and added in a great range of extras for the bathroom as well. The studio went up quickly and they were always at the end of the phone to problem solve any issues. We were referred to MK Building Solutions by a colleague after the renovation of our children’s bathroom by a “leading” bathroom renovation company was a little more than average. We wanted to renovate our master bathroom and were disillusioned on who to engage with. After meeting with Marco, we felt that working with him would be a partnership and he genuinely wanted to create a bathroom which we wanted. After our “interview” with Marco, we found he has a solid ground up building background and with him being the actual builder on our project, we knew that our ideas wouldn’t have to go thru “consultants” to “supervisors” whom we would be just another job to.Our continuing discussions with Marco unravelled a great benefit which became invaluable – his wife Laila is a leading interior designer which – as we now look back upon, gave us the finish and style in our bathroom which we could never have attained on our own. Laila has a wonderful eye for style and elegance yet still being functional.The whole renovation process was an easy process for us, Marco was very hands on, his tradespeople were all excellent, polite and clean and a very high level of workmanship. During the renovation, we did change a few minor things from our original plan and Marco had no issues with this and the end result for us is at a level higher than we thought could be achieved.Both Marco and Laila have great bravura in what they do. Unassuming and modest yet very knowledgeable and they both think outside the square, becoming partners with their clients to provide us with something many people desire and dream about – an outstanding renovation.P.S. Mk Building Solutions were the ideal builder that we spent quite some time looking for. as we were looking for a tailored solution to our difficult block/situation. Marco was on site managing the trades and ensuring a top finish was achieved. really happy with the result and can hopefully use them again on future projects.

My wife and I found MK Building purely by chance through a recommendation of a friend of our building designer. Being that we only ever use trades and services that are recommended to us through people we trust we were keen to give MK Building the opportunity to tender for our house extension.MK Building were extremely professional throughout the whole process from there prompt responses to emails to taking the time to explain the technical minutiae of the building process when we had a question though to working closely with us to get our specification just right to minimise future variations.Once the administrative side of the planning process was complete MK’s team started work and wow were we surprise on how fast things happened. In a matter of a week they had completed the necessary demolition, cleared the portion of site that needed clearing and poured the new foundations. This amazing pace was only slowed over the Christmas shut down not because MK’s team were taking a break but because they could not get the materials to continue working. This efficiently continued throughout the whole building process only ever slowed down when waiting for a delivery of materials we had bought for the site. A personal suggestion to anyone considering building with MK, choose your fittings and fixtures early because they will be needed sooner than you think!!! The whole build was completed, baring a couple of minor tidy ups, in 24 weeks which when you look at the extent of the work completed in my mind was amazing.While speed is a nice to have our primary drivers were cost and quality. We wanted the best possible product for the money we had to spend and MK delivered to this. While we did have a few variations they were all items that ended up improving the final finish of the build which ultimately we are very happy to spend that little bit extra.Would we use MK Building again? Absolutely. Do we recommend them to friends, family and people we meet in the street? Constantly. MK Building is a rare gem in the building industry. They are open, honest and willing to work with you to get the best possible outcome for your project. Marco and Leila worked very well as a team and they were always very concerned about achieving the best price for products and labour. Their honest and open communication was refreshing.They went to great lengths to find out our wishes at all stages and were very creative with helpful suggestions to produce the best outcome. They were always very concerned about achieving the best price for products and labour and I found them very honest and open.We chose to work on a cost plus basis because I like the fairness of it, if you have honest people.After a couple of months, I decided to raise Marco’s margin because he was doing such a good job with great suggestions that saved us money and improved the job.He warned me that perhaps I should reconsider because we were coming into an expensive part of the job. His warning typified his fabulous attitude and I felt great to be able to pay more than the initial agreed amount in our contract. I don’t think many people would do that and it is a reflection of how impressed we were on so many different levels.

Our home was not one we loved to live in before Marco and his team worked their magic. Marco saw our vision & executed the renovation with the utmost professionalism. His team was always friendly & professional & were here Monday to Saturday, for 5 months, until we had our new home. Living in a house, during a full renovation, is not an easy task & we could not have done it without the support of Marco & Laila.
