La Chocolaterie Rococo
1. Really odd tasting chocolate, with a bad after taste. Tastes like budget chocolate has been melted to make these. Certainly not artisan chocolate, and certainly not worth the high price.2. Rude sales person. They offer “tasting” but offer no place to sit and no information or anything. When asked if you can take away to “taste”, you are laughed at.3. Bad odour in shop.

Just a little chocolate shop in the front of someones house.Owner was away (despite it being peak season) so no option to do pairing tastings which why we took the drive through.Tasting was just buy 3 truffles and it eat it there.Price is decent and decent chocolates, not the best handmade Belgian chocolates I had.Worth popping in if you are passing through not worth it for the drive alone.

We visited while in Groot Brak River.Decided to pop in for a treat. It's a small place and we thought it had a reasonable variety of chocolates.Charmaine the owner, makes the Belgian chocolate. We had a chat to her while there. She went through all her flavours with us and surprisingly told us it's the blue cheese. An acquired tasteWe took 2 of most flavours and even though it is a bit pricey, it's still a once off treat and we certainly enjoyed each flavour we chose

The chocolate is quite nice and I appreciate the fact that it is handmade, but it is certainly not exceptional and not worth R13.75 per little piece. (R220 for a box of 16 pcs) I expected a bit of an information session with it seeing that they promote it as handmade but it is basically pick, pay and leave experience.

We were very pleased to visit this place - it was recommended to us by our guesthouse in the area and we weren't disappointed. Lovely chocolates and in a very convenient location. The woman tending the shop, Charmayne, was exceedingly friendly and gave us some local magazines and information about local places to visit.

Nice chocolates, definitely not worth the price asked. Expected more from a 'chocolate artisan', can do with more variety and what gets advertised and what you get is not necessarily the same thing.
