Carmichael House Boutique Hotel

Old Victorian build house with amazing love in it with an eye on the details. We had a lovely stay here for 2 nights (Jan 2023). The two owners, Yves and Valerie, are extremely kind and gave us a home feeling. Pool is a big plus, the showers one of the best we had so far in SA and the cleanliness is 10/10. Breakfast and coffee like in France, good Q.For the light sleepers. It is an old house (which we loved, which means that you can hear the house lives. We did not really bother, but it’s there. (We had a the huge 4 pers bedroom on the grond floor). Only minor for us was the missing of a small fan.9,8 out of 10.Thanks!

The Carmichael Guesthouse is a wonderful choice for any tourist or business person. My family (husband and 2 kids ages 5 and 7) and I truly enjoyed staying there this past June. The owners are a charming couple and the house is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture. The breakfast, included in the price, was delicious and had some a la carte options. We LOVED their croissants, which they import from France! Our rooms were very nice and very convenient for a family with children since they were interconnected by a covered balcony. The bathroom was clean and spacious and inside the room. The decoration was tasteful and the beds were comfortable. Lots of space for clothes storage. The small fridge in the room was very useful to our family.Service was excellent. The housekeepers were always very friendly and helpful and really impressed me when I saw them ironing the bed comforter, daily! Yves & Valerie were very nice and helpful with questions we had about the city. Their sweet dog was also very nice, specially with our kids who loved being able to pet him.Location is nice and safe. Very convenient for anyone doing business at Cape Town University. If you have a car is a short ride to downtown (20 mins approximately). Otherwise, you can take a taxi cab or ride the bus (we did this a couple of times!). If you don't have a car I highly recommend to buy a ticket to the Red tourist bus which you can catch in downtown.I would definitely recommend this guesthouse to any family member or friend.

The owners and the staff welcome you with open arms. They very respectful and very friendly. The rooms and facilities are absolutely beautiful. The place is not in Cape Town but only a 5min drive to town. It's a very safe area and the parking are secure. There's absolutely nothing bad about this guesthouse.

A wonderful hotel. Safe, hospitable and always engaged in the interests of the guests. It does not get better than this. I am already looking forward to my next stay in this oasis.

My stay in Carmichael guesthouse was simply wonderful. The house looks great, is quite large and open and the rooms are also large. It is located in a quiet street, but in a convenient location. The host is very friendly and helpful. He really makes you feel at home.

The Boutique Hotel is operated by owners Yves and Valerie. The couple have recently renovated to Victorian homestead into a peaceful and homely establishment. The service is first class and the rooms have every amenity needed. The property is relatively close to Cape Town’s attractions and a stone throw away from the botanical gardens.The breakfast is great with a variety of options and freshly baked croissants. I can highly recommend this quaint and well operated boutique hotel for family, friends and solo travelers.

It was an absolute pleasure staying with Yves and Valérie! They were the perfect hosts, always catering to our needs, super friendly and hospitable, we couldn’t have asked for better! The breakfast is prepared with love and care, the rooms are very comfortable, clean and chic, each room comes in a different theme/color and has all you could need during your stay. The hosts always go out of their way to help out (restaurant recommendations, transfer to airport, food delivery and even “at home” beauty salon treatment!) Highly recommend! And would definitely stay here again
