Beautiful and tranquil setting. Lush gardens with swings and a trampoline for the kids. The owner is lovely and ensures you are comfortable.

Loved the huge space, good quality electric blankets and bedding and lovely antiques and persian carpets. Still, this cottage is not the four star quality we have in the Western Cape. Cheap 20c sweets, no matches to light the fire, Windows not neatly coverd, no full rolls of toiletpaper, horrible looking kitchen with appliances that needed an upgrade 10 years ago, very old lounge furniture that is burned, owner KNOWS there is a problem with her WiFi or lack of it (did complain with her and she told me her house have so this cottage that shares her wifi must also have and ignored the problem further)as I read other reviews about it and still she don't give this cottage his own internet, but share it from her internet. With the prices she ask this cottage must have his own internet. I love antiques and old victorian houses, but this jakaranda house has a cheap feelling to it. We arrived late and when I phoned and told her that we are a family of 4 she quote me R1500 and when I arrived she told me R1500 PER ROOM in this 3 bedroom cottage and she wanted cash as she don't have card facilities, I told her there is misunderstanding, but as it was very late she settled with R2000 cash without breakfast for the 2 rooms. Not very friendly about it or with us. Luckily we were alone as we were waken up by cars in the street driving by at 04h00 in the morning (it sounds like car is driving in the room, streetnoise a huge problem)and stand up and made Coffee in communal lounge as rooms have no coffee facilities and the wooden floors made such a noise other guests would have definitely be angry about it. This is a cottage that can be rent as a cottage to one family, NOT as a B&B and definitely needs an upgrading and a bit of attention to detail.

Don't be misled - this is not 4*. Amenities are furnished with sort of antiques, whole initial impression is very good. Rooms are spacious, bathroom is large.Whole facility is under managed, rooms are not clean. It was very noisy during the night, despite that is not their fault - neighbours dogs are barking.Staff was extremely pleasant.

A wonderful few days spent in beautifully restored period cottages, with a most helpful and pleasant hostess. A choice experience!

It was a stop over- but more than enough time to fall in love with the cottage. Take the time to read the information booklets that have been allocated to the houses- it just makes it more special. Great vibes, awesome staff- Great breakfast: Mary Anne is the best! Electric blankets, king sized beds- wish I didn't have to leave...

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Large garden with a beautiful view. Delicious homemade breakfast.Great attention to detail. A definite place to stay over. Higly recommended
