Things started off well; we had an online consultation, the owner was super charismatic and very knowledgeable about marketing and also the industry my business is in. I explained that I'm a start-up and that I'm still working on getting to an MVP but that I'd like to get my social media and website up in the meantime so as to create a web presence and a following before my product becomes available. They said, no problem and even offered me a preferential rate because I was a start-up. I was grateful and excited and signed up in early 2021, eager to get started. There were some delays in communication but the team I was working with was so friendly, I let it slide.It was when the account manager working on my brand went on maternity leave, that things started to break down. The owner took over managing my account and unfortunately, effective communication was seriously lacking; often times it took a whole week to hear back from her, meetings were missed on more than one occasion with explanations and apologies being sent days later (even with loadshedding, days later isn't acceptable). I referred a client to this agency and the same thing happened to them. I was embarrassed to say the least.Issues related to the build of my website was the final straw with little to no progress being made over a few months. In the end, I was told that I didn't know how things worked and that it's because my product development wasn't complete that nothing could be done for me, despite what was agreed to in the initial consultation and despite me having already paid the deposit, which I didn't get back. I was deeply disappointed by the way the owner handled my business and referral business with them.I awarded three stars only because of the support and service I received from the account manager and website developer working on my brand. They reached out to empathize with my situation and offered assistance in helpful ways. Thank you, ladies.
