Excellent.Friendly host.Lovely setting.Highly recommended.

Despite there being very limited options for accommodation in the area, the team at Smithfield really do put in a lot of care and effort to provide quiet, comfortable and affordable accomodation and meals. The internet connection is usually more than sufficient for work and calls, the rooms are spacious and light with access to lovely gardens. If you enjoy qalks abd looking for birds - this is an excellent stop over for a night to a week!The communal space is well appointed, and there is plenty of open grounds to be alone if you like.The service staff are respectful but attentive, and although there are self catering options, the breakfast and dinners are fantastic! come hungry! You can't self-cater for the same quantity and quality as the guesthouse can!I look forward to more business trips!

Wonderful place. Delicious home cooked meal and desert. Room was nice. Perfect for a stay over. Great hostess.

It was bad for me , they could not fix Ddtv satellite problem hence I stayed there for two days without watching TV

Accommodation and meals excellentBirding - Malcolm took us to 3 indigenous forests in the area, stunning trails and birds - Malcolm is an excellent guide for birds and the area

Gail and Malcolm are the best, warm and friendly. The food is great and the rooms and cabins are very good. The garden is full of birdlife.

A wonderful place in the countryThe self catering option is a well kitted unit with a big verandah and huge treed garden incl a place to Braai.The bird is excellent especially if take a walk to the hide.The guided bird tours are well worth itMalcolm is very knowledgeable and shares easily ...Good hostsWill I Go back ...absolutely
