Called on a Friday evening to confirm they were open, they said they were; got there about half an hour later just after 7 and they were closed. Not a way for a restaurant to do business.

This place does not even deserve one star. I got butterchicken and a bunny chow and I have to say it was the worse experience I ever had.. the curry was not fresh at all a they took it out the fridge just there and to top it off it was SOUR!!!! It was the Worse!!! I won't recommend this place to my worse enemy. Pathetic! And Disgusting

So I have had multiple trips to the record store in this block. The curry smell is amazing.On sitting down I was offered a taste of the lamb curry.I am more a chicken person, so told the server if she likes it I'm sure I will. Her answer was very weird. I don't eat that, which sounded more like I don't eat here!Although I was confused I really enjoyed the butter chicken, the salads were tasty and fresh.My only complaint is the constant sound of microwaves. The rice bowl was so hot it definitely came from the microwave. Mmmmm there must be a better way to serve hot fresh food

Consistently good. Try this hidden gem out once and you’ll be back for more. More of a take away spot but lovely for a casual meal with friends. Samoosas are a must!

My friend and I had the chicken curry which was quite enjoyable. Another friend had the butter chicken which was alright, but not entirely up to scratch.However, what I am most upset about is the completely wrong pricing. I felt almost cheated out of money.I was charged for two orders of rice which we thought came with the curry. If that’s not the case, I’m not sure why we paid R54 for each portion of curry? That’s quite overpriced for what we got to say the least. They should make an effort to communicate to guests that the curry dishes do not come with a side. In any case, I was charged for two portions of rice whose prices weren’t even on the menu. I amHIGHLY unimpressed about this, it feels so sneaky. Definitely not going back.

Varni makes traditional Durban curries with spices brought in from KZN. The hospitality is warm and welcoming.

I moved from the area about 13 years ago and in that time regularly had dinner at Curry Quest.I had to be in Mowbray and my first thought was I need Curry Quest!"They did not disappoint! Still the same good quality and amazing tasting curry!I need to find more excuses to go to Mobray!"
