This evening had 2 portions of hake and med chips - all so greasy the oil had seeped thro the paper. The chips were more like slap chips and I suspect had been standing for some time. At R142.50 a disappointing and expensive meal.

The staff were standing right next to each other all talking at the top of their voices. I was the only client and the noise level was akin to a shebeen or a disco!The fish was overcooked and dry with not enough salt and the chips were soggy.Although when placing the order, I stated that we wished to eat in but when the meal was ready we were advised that they had no knives and the plastic fork was of such a poor quality one could scarsely get into a chip.So sad to see the standard now prevailing in South Africa and nobody seems to be at all interesred in raising the bar. When the business fails, they will blame Covid or the economy.

Very disappointing meal . Hake ..calamari ..chips ...fish not fresh salt added afterward. Not pleasant . Also chips definitely not freshly made.

Rude and unprofessional staff, the cashier did not seem to want to help at all, very unwelcoming.Kitchen staff standing around, eating and handling food with the same hands they just literally kicked clean, no hair nets worn by 2 staff members in the kitchen.Definitely not the standard this place used to have, I will not visit again. We phoned into the restaurant to confirm closing time. As I got no answer I ended the call. Immediately I received a call back from the restaurant and we had an amazing visit to restaurant and delicious meal. What an exceptionally well oiled team

The Pensioners Pack consisting of Two Med. Pieces of Jake generous portion of chips plus coleslaw is a great meal.Working out at R118 per pack or for us 59 ppNicely fried. FishChips were a bit to slap but had been standing for a while.Pleasant staff.

Could not eat the complete fish it was overcooked it broke in half in inside the batter was still raw after waiting over a hour, very disappointed , you sould look at your kitchen staff or proses something is wrong! My humble opinion there is mutch better in PE

I've always supported Fishtales but today was disappointed- I ordered 30 mins before, they lost my order, then suddenly brought it from the back. Fish was dry, baby hake had bones, grilled coating was without flavour and fish was burnt. Chips were all shapes and sizes. Food was cold. I won't get my husband to go back. This is sad as I have been buying there for years!!

Food was delicious although the fish was cold. I waited so long for them to finish my order, while the fish was ready within a few minutes.
