Have ordered from them before and never had a problem and the service was good before. I don’t know what happened but the quality of the meat dropped significantly. On the day we picked up our order we froze the meat. But every time we take out the meat for dinner the meat has already gone bad. All the lamb we bought was off. I praised them and told everyone to buy from them. I take back my words, will never buy from them again. Very disappointed and a lot of money wasted!

Quick and efficient Online Order system. Delivery took less than 2 hours after order was paid. Packaging is clean and crisp! Even the delivery boxes are sealed and kept cool with insulation. Brilliant; All Round! Thanks Berts!!

How can u quote 35 rand a kg to block a game leg into cut steaks or stew meat. . Every other butchery even your honey crest branch charge between 11 and 14 rand per kg. Not asking for dry wors or wors or anything that needs added fat or spices just cuts and i made that clear.. it would have cost me 1000 rand to cut a wildebees leg into several steaks. Literally 5 mins of work. Chance taking doesnt always pay off. Meat world is doing it for me 10 rand a kg. Poor business ethics. Just because im english you think u can take me for a ride. Clowns

Useless and futile service. Staff glare at you while you endlessly wait, but nobody will offer to help you. The “regulars” gets preference of service and apparently parking too… Will not be returning anytime soon. Keep your “more than wet” biltong…

Ordered and confirmed a big order for 75 people to be picked up Friday. Confirmed and left my number on Monday to let me know if any problems. Arrived just to be told they don’t have stock. Didn’t bother to let me know… went to Rembrandt and they helped me with everything

My visit to your shop today was utterly disappointing. I bought, amongst other things, 0,59 kg of beef biltong chunks. For the biltong, I was overcharged by almost R80. I was refunded and I was offered a halfhearted apology, but the experience left a very bad taste. The reason given for the problem, was a faulty scale! When I responded that this was indeed a very big and unacceptable problem, I was told rather dismissively that the problem was reported and that this only happened once on a blue Monday. I cannot believe the audacity and stupidity of this response. I will never shop at Bert’s again and I will spread the word.

So sad to say that since the new owners took over some time ago, Berts has just been going backwards. Staff are still very friendly and trying their best. Getting what you are looking for is however a problem as stock is running low all the time. A prime example is something as simple as plain beef biltong sticks. It is just never available. You can get chilli, but not plain. Been trying to get some for the last 4 months with promises that it will be available but then the spice was not ordered or the wrong meat arrived, etc. Really disappointing.

Their meat is very tasty and their prices reasonable. Best braai wors around. They also make the best dog bone packs which are a treat for our Rotties. Good biltong too. And they recently opened a bottle store right next door. Prices are reasonable there too.
