I am being discharged today, as much as I was scared to spend time in hospital and as frustrated and home sick as I was, I would like to extend a massive thanks to the hard working nurses, cooks and Dr's who helped me. The facilities the staff have are not great however the staff make up for it with their compassion and attentiveness. I have spent a week in Ward 3 and honestly have never had a rude encounter in my entire stay. These people are hard workers and do their best with what they have. The bathrooms could be renovated to allow patients a proper shower but the nurses did their best to ensure we all had some hot water to use everyday. The food was also as diverse as they could get it. I am very grateful as my last hospital stay made me very scared of being admitted. Thank you to everyone at Kopanong you all were amazing.

Came into emergency with a suspwcted heart attack with my aunt at 4pm. It is now 6.50pm and we have yet to have anybody even take her blood pressure. Still sitting in her iwn wheel chair (hospital did not have any available) in the passage. When asking for assistance we get told to just wait.

Service just very very slow. Other than that I was treated nice by staff. From Help desk through to Xray and Casualty. They need to get patients helped quicker.

The worst hospital ever . I almost gave birth on a chair while the nurses were having a time of their life .one of the nurses even had the nerve to tell me that I was being dramatic it's not even that painful and i must get over it .At that point I could feel the baby inbetween my thighs.I was helped by a cleaning lady that went and called one of the nurses to take me to labour or else I was going to deliver on the chair . I would not recommend this hopital to even a dog . DISGUSTING!!!!

Bad service. I was there during March 2023 to consult with the gynecologist I came around 1Pm for emergency and waited for him and only got help around 2AM the next day. Whole day hungry and dehydrated. We slept in the cold and on chairs.

Big shock to walk into this hospital after 10 years and to see how things have deteriorated. Went to try and speak to someone in admin about paperwork for a family member that was admitted here, but was met by unfriendly staff and a mob of security staff who were standing around doing nothing, except to intimidate people daring to ask for assistance. Some of the security guards blatantly telling loved ones delivering food and bedding to patients that next time they better bring something for the guards as well". I guess this is now the government standard going forward

I cannot even begin to express the disgusting nature of treatment patients receive here. My mother in law has a broken hip, and after physically going to the hospital myself to try and get an ambulance, they never pitched. I had to pay R3000 for private transportation to the hospital. She has been sitting in a hallway for 4 hours and counting without a single Doctor seeing to her. All the nurses are having a fat party in their canteen and told my wife she has to push her mother to whatever room she will need to go to - when she is eventually seen to. 4 hours and nothing? Disposable.

The worst experience ever. Went with an xray form from the clinic. They refused to accept it. Had to wait 5 hours to see one of their doctors (1 minute consultation), who filled out the exact same form. Xray took less than 5 minutes. Was put back in the queue to see the doctor. Waited another 1 hour 20 minutes, they looked at the xray, told me it was fine, go back in the queue and wait for meds. Told them I did not need meds but was informed that I still had to wait. I eventually walked out without meds 6 hours and 55 minutes after arriving. It defies logic that they would rather waste time and resources ( they do a whole battery of tests on you) instead of sending you straight to xray and concentrating on serious cases. A lady brought in by ambulance with a severely damaged leg was still waiting for treatment after 5 hours

The hospital administration is disgusting. Files get lost......No one can assist physically or telephonically on the J88 medical report forms for 2 patients that were assaulted (GBH) it has been over 3 weeks and no one is able to assist. The admin staff working in the office were so rude when submitting the forms very unprofessional of a someone working with the public. No filing system files are just lying in piles across the floor so its no wonder why files are just lost. The hospital is dirty and patients are just left to wait until staff feel they feel like assisting.

From 7h30 up to 19:57 no medication but filing. No medicine given. Sitting on cold mesh seats whilst doctors chats with files in hands. Desperation keeps me here.
