Gnu Valley Fly Fishing

Place is beautiful and peaceful.Kids facilities are really child friendly and neat.Unfortunately we paid for fishing but did not even have a nibble from 07:30 to 17:00 even with a variety of baits, dips and lures.

There is to much grass in the water and there's less the nun fish here been 7hrs and only 1 fish.Time to put in more fish.Last year 16 now 1 this place has gone backwards and i do not recommend used all tipe plastic and bait non worked.I will never come back really dont waste your time.BUT the workers are really friendly ill.give them a 5/5

This is a perfect venue for teaching young children to fish as there are numerous bream/kurper to keep them busy throughout the day ranging in size from tiddlers to about 800g. We've also caught a couple of decent bass but have not tried for carp/trout. If you're looking to catch carp (I've spotted several in the 3-4KG range), conventional Rietvlei may be a challenge as the dam is well stocked with oxygen plants, so I'd recommend fly or zig rig type approach. We've been there a several times over the past four months and the children have loved every visit.From my experience staff have been very friendly and I've met the owners a couple of times and they've been very accommodating, including at 8pm at night when we realised that my son had left his phone at the venue.As we've only been during the week, the only facilities I can comment on are the day fishing facilities (dams, jungle gym, swimming pool, lapas and braai stands) all of which were ideal. Ablution facilities are basic but sufficient.

Went fishing there yesterday. Clean, relaxing, quiet and safe for the whole family. Bathrooms are very clean. Staff friendly and very assisting. The coffee shop has a variety on the menu, good food and service, u just whatsapp your order through and oom Frikkie even deliveries to u. Awesome.We cought 8 fish for the day, carp, barbel and kurper. Great fun. Although the dam is full of water grass, we didn't loose one trace.The reason for me giving only 3 stars.... Price... R150 is a bit steep, if u take in consideration the the other 3 fishing spots in the area only charges R80, regardless if u fish or just come for a braai or picnic.Overall enjoyed the day, see u soon again GNU

Lovely place. Secure and fun

Winter fishing is tough, but the fish are good quality

We phoned twice and there was no mention that the trout dam was leaking. Arrived there, was hardly water in the dam and unfriendly staff. Won't spend my money there. There was a potential of spending R800 and more and we decided to leave. Entrance fee is R130 per person, I don't mind spending. At the end of the day we went to BROOKWOOD TROUT FARM. I'm happy there and got good service. Entrance fee is R80 per person.

This place has a great setting, good ablutions clean and relaxing with some shaded lapas. What was disappointing was the fishing. We had 5 lines in for the day and olny caught one bass by luck. The dams are overgrown with plenty weed and water grass, and the R 160 is expensive for what you getting considering other places in the area are almost half the price.

Very nice quite place for a relaxing day out.. if you would accommodation is available on site. There is a convenience store onsite for the basic if required including a restaurant.
