Margate Airport

Very cute airport. Recently renovated. Great way to fly back to JHB.

Regional airport which is still undergoing improvements. Note that there are no facilities to buy any food or drink at this stage, not even a vending machine.One is able to get a good view of incoming and outgoing flights from outside close to the fence. Car hire agents are on the property.Service at the airport is quick seen that it is quiet and small. Planes cannot land if the weather is bad or visibility is low as the do not have instrument landing facilities.

My Mom took a flight to Margate airport and on her return to O R Thambo airport the flight at Margate was delayed from the morning to afternoon. Then no airplane then they hade to be transport via shuttle to King Shaka airport for an evening flight. Do not offer anything to dring nor a snack, been there since the morning and no vending machine, how pathetic.Now the shuttle arrives and the driver makes an illegal stop to do a drop off and collection of some stuff, wanted to use his WhatsApp on his phone while still driving in the Hi-way.How reckless and incompetent is that with customer in the shuttle.Will not use thus service or airplane company ever again.Absolutely not happy about all.

Pathetic in this day and age that you cannot buy a cold drink or sandwich at the airport. Revamped but still lacks basic restaurants!! Flight delayed for 45 minutes no notification or apology from Cemair.

I understand renovations, but you require a passanger to be there an hour before the flight and I could not even buy water or get a sandwich anywhere. There was absolutely nothing. It looked like a construction site.

I am sitting at Margate airport,waiting to fly to JHB.The staff here are as always so friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help a personKeep up the good work.Thank you so much EileenThey URGENTLY need to fix the aircon in the waiting room. I feel like I am sitting in a sauna. The smell in here is Not pleasant. Also when is the coffee Shop going to open?

Margate airport have friendly competent staff that know exactly what they're doing. Flights are more than up to standard. Would recommend this to anyone going from or to the South Coast.

Flight was delayed almost 2 hours. We sat in the heat...no shop or restaurant for refreshments. And we were not notified of Flight delays.This was Sunday 15th January 2023.Very disappointing.
