Montagu Nature Garden
It's a wonderful place to take a walk or relax in a natural environment.The garden is delightful and there are a wide variety of local plants on show in a peaceful space.Not crowded at all, and it's easy to navigate the well-marked paths.Wheelchair users might have some difficulty but could get around with assistance.There is also a museum on site bt check whether it's open before you go.

Rugged 1.7km hike to viewpoint in Bessiekop which is beautiful. Beautiful flora mainly cacti. In summer take water, hat and sunscreen there is no shade at all on the hike so go early morning whilst it is cooler. Beautiful lily pond in the garden.

Montagu Nature Garden
We planted a tree in remembrance of my wife, Sandy, late brother. Hugo, the curator of the nature garden took us around and showed us the tree. Looks absolutely fantastic and growing beautifully. Hugo is so passionate about these Gardens and Montagu as well. He is an absolute inspiration to the local area. Always makes you feel so welcome. Highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful and tranquil. Well looked after garden with some hiking routes. Great for those who want to just walk in nature and enjoy the scenery.

Beautiful nature space to come relax a while or take a stroll through. Lots of birds to see and in spring time the flowers are in full bloom. R5 entry on an honour system when the gates are not manned. Could do with better maps or marking of the paths to guide you through the space.

Definitely a must-see if you are in Montagu. However, there are no information around any of the flowers/trees. There is a small stream and plenty of benches. The overall garden is in good condition. When you entry you have to pay a R5 fee, but you just drop it in a slot which is a bit dodgy.

Very dry and was not very welcoming. No path directions on entrance, had to figure out how to get to the offices (that was closed).No body at the entrance to welcome and explain where to go.The view is amazing, so beautiful.Need to go back to go do a proper hike.

Surprisingly more than expected. Love the honesty hole in the wall to pay your very cheap entry fee. Hike up the hill for great views.
