The Cat and Cow Guest Farm

Stayed one night with friends. Found friendly efficient service and super clesn, well equipped accommodation. Well situated on farm just outside of Vanwyksdorp. Highly recommended.

The Cat and Cow surpised us with very modern interior and fittings. With a beautiful bathroom and great rooms. The bedding was of hotel quality. Great sheets and a wonder general vibe. Also great location for hiking, 4x4 trips.

Enjoyed my stay in the backpackers room" for two days and had all the facilities (except a microwave) I needed..there was a dam about 2 km up the road if I really wanted to swim and cool down. Not much shade currently for the backpackers if you venture outside but the thorn tree will soon be big enough for good shade. Other thorn trees also planted for shade for vehicles in the future. They are still developing this venue but it is worth the visit. The family units are really neat. Braai packs and wood available to buy if needed

What a lovely stay at Cat & Cow, I never realized how beautiful it is in Van Wyks Dorp as well. The tranquillity, the stars and the sunsets are truly something to behold. The guest house itself is really nice, well appointed rooms and excellent hospitality by Graeme and Babette. I would highly recommend it!

We stayed at the Cat and Cow guesthouse in Van Wyksdorp on 11 May on a bike trip over the Rooiberg pass. Our host Graeme was very accommodating and welcomed us personally with Pluto his friendly canine. We stayed in the backpackers unit which exceeded our expectations: very clean, quality linen and bedding and great coffee! Situated just outside Van Wyksdorp we enjoyed dinner at the Spekboom restaurant with delicious country fare, and woke up to a beautiful sunrise on a country farm setting. We had a coffee with the resident 'Cat' before packing up and continuing our trip. Will definitely be back as we want to stay in one of the four cottages next time which look amazing. We have stayed at this establishment on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. Always crispy clean with everything that one needs on a weekend break. Even good filter coffee in the kitchen. Graeme will provide fire wood and even braai packs. The price is very reasonable and it has thus become a firm favourite when we visit these shores!

A wonderful tranquil place to spend a few days to unwind and shed the busyness of life. The hosts are kind and friendly creating a homely environment that made us feel special to be there. The area provides a variety of experiences that reminded me of times that life was easier than we have in the concrete jungles some of us live in these days.I can really recommend the stay here, the whole experience and attention to detail deserves more than five starts.

at and Cow Review-With the sunset chasing us,driving in the Karoo.Tired and exhausted from traveling, myself and a friend visited Cat & Cow Guesthouse. Never have I been welcomed so humbly (by Graeme and Babette. ) Concious people make your stay comfortable for the environment and yourself.Immediately I was at home, away from home. Pleasant conversations and wonderful food. A safe and kind place where you find your heart in the wind and your mind making drawings with the outstanding view of the milky way. Fortunate there is no wind at this place but a lot of stars. When the time came to leave,my mind quickly made plans to stay. With a neat and grand place like this, you will always find to overstay your visit. I only experienced love,respect and unity while visiting Cat & Cow. From the views of someone that also runs a guesthouse in the Karoo I can honestly say the service and accommodation is exactly what you need, when you need it. I can not wait to return there. Not only for the stay but the great friends I got to know there.

Best place for some true relaxing time, in the quiet mountains. All you can hear is nature, and you can truly connect with yourself and your environment. Graeme and Babette have outdone themselves with the stunning chalets, and the farm is set in the perfect spot to truly take in the beauty of your surroundings. If you often get lost in your busy life, this is the place where you should go.

We had a wonderful time at the Cat and Cow. Not only was it excellent value for money and beautiful, the cottage was immaculate and fitted out with everything one could possibly require. Graeme and Babette were extremely helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend it to anyone!
