Stylish, hip hotel, rooftop restaurant with a great view, and basement jazz club. Generator to protect against power outages. However, it’s in a neighborhood that is not safe to walk around in and you must take Ubers everywhere. And some plumbing issues in my room (shower kept flooding). The staff is super nice and helpful.

The rooftop bar is fantastic! Go for sundowners. Killer views of joburg, tasty drinks and vibes DJ. The waitors get overwhelmed when it's busy so the service isn't great. I've also been once for a brunch event and the food was ridiculously good.

The only thing that takes the 5th star away is the location. Once you are past crapping yourself driving through Town you are met by a beautiful establishment where they have taken the time and effort to make you forget about your outside surroundings. Professional service, clean and updated rooms. Unfortunately you have a 360 degree view of how dilapidated and filthy Town is. Not the establishments fault at all but it is what it is.

If I had to create my dream hotel, Hallmark House would be it. It has it all, a fantastic staff, food, rooms, a rooftop bar, a dance studio, a place to get a blowout and a great location.Staff - From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine desire to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Throughout my stay, every staff member I interacted with was friendly, professional, and quick to share a laugh. They genuinely seemed to care about my experience.Food - The dining experience at Thorn and Marabi was absolutely amazing. I was impressed with the wide variety of options available at both restaurants. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and I could tell that a lot of care had gone into preparing each dish. In addition to the great food, the wait staff was also amiable and attentive. As an early riser, I appreciated that breakfast started at 6:00 am daily.Room - The room was spacious, clean, and stylish and had a great view of the city, with all the amenities I could have asked for. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the little touches, like the complimentary bottled water and the selection of teas and coffees.Amenities - Taking a dance class at Bontle Modiselle’s dance studio was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Not only was the dance studio conveniently located in the hotel, the classes were fun and accessible, and the instructors created a positive and supportive environment. I took the Saturday morning hip hop and amapiano. After a 20-hour flight, I was over the moon to get a wash and blowout at Cutters. The treatment achieved a flawless result that left me feeling relaxed and beautiful. Rooftop bar - The bar staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. If you are looking for a place to soak up the energy of Johannesburg and dance to a fantastic selection of DJs, I highly recommend the hotel’s rooftop bar. Lastly, a shout out the the amazing band at Marabi that made we realize that listening to strong rhythms enhances your dining experience.

The fine dining experience at the Marabi club is out of this world, the entertainment comes a close second but overall excellent experience! At times you would forget that you are in the heart of Johannesburg CBD. . . then as you make your way outside you see the heavily armed guards as a harsh reminder.

The perfect hotel for Johannesburg! As we did not have the time to organize any guide tour in Joburg, this hotel was the ideal place to still experience the city as it as an amazing rooftop. We also spent an evening in the hotel’s Jazzclub (really good food, too!) and could use the small gym for free. Not to forget the great style of the rooms and the cordiality and professionality of the whole staff.

Luckily I've been to the hallmark before. And had a very great experience. This time around it was just way too full on the roof top. The service was really slow we waiting very long for drink. I suggest that when there's an event that we beef up the service or keep the numbers low.

I stayed there to enjoy the Maboneng area. I went to there by uber this afternoon, and I enjoyed drinking with sunset of Joburg from roof top bar. At night, I moved to the Marabi club, which is a jazz bar. The performance was fantastic!! The room was also nice, and very modern style. There are almost all amenities, I think.

This was my first time in Joburg. The staff in this place are amazing and so friendly. Sindi who works in the front desk is such a a great host. 10/10 staff! the cafe/bar staff, guys cleaning the windows in the gym, room service, people at the front door and everyone else were so nice and hosted properly. I'll definitely be heading back next time
