We rented a tent from you on the 17th June 2017 for a wedding in Fishhoek.Firstly, the gentlemen erected the first tent. The tent was so dirty that the one gentlemen agreed that it could not be used for the event. After which he deconstructed the tent and took another one off the back of the vehicle and proceeded to erect it.The second tent was also dirty, but usable. However whilst they were putting up the pole, they failed to put a stopper on the one pole and proceeded to poke a hole through the tent. Not having anything to fix the hole with they tied a knot with rope to close the hole. This did not keep and came loose. They then left the premises and bought clear packaging tape to tape the hole closed. They were not at all equipped with the necessary tools to repair the tent.Both my wife, club management and I asked them if the tent was secure and would hold. They assured us that the tent was perfectly stable and that no further tearing would occur.They left without providing any documentation for us to sign that we were happy or not with the construction of the tent. I had hoped to be able to notarize that the tent had been damaged during the construction.Unfortunately, the assurance proved to be false. The next morning the tent had collapsed. The event coordinator and I tried to contact the company several times as well as the gentlemen who constructed the tent. But to no avail could either be reached. The tent was not only completely collapsed but further tearing had occurred! This was a safety risk to all staff and guests alike.We had to re-erect the tent and patch the tent with masking tape to try hide the tears.No one was available to assist us, it was embarrassing to all involved to have to host a wedding in a tent full of holes and we were constantly checking the tent that it did not collapse again.We are extremely disgruntled at the service we received, especially after being assured repeatedly that the tent was 100% sturdy.
