Jeffreys Bay Shell Museum
Beautifully displayed shells from around the world. The museum is very neat and clean. Supported by Jefferysbay local municipality. The widest variety of shells I have ever seen. A must visit for anyone interested in life under the sea and the sheer beauty our oceans has to offer. The guide is very knowledgeable and you are always welcome to take a guided tour.

Made a side trip on our way to Port Elizabeth to visit the museum. Unfortunately the museum was closed on Tuesday, June 13. I tried to find winter hours before visiting but didn’t find anything stating different times. Understand that winter in a beach town is slow. Very fun 1960's dinner just around the corner. Might be best to call if making a special trip off season.

This was lovely - did not expect it. Super friendly and informed staff. Load shedding did not take away anything from the very clean and beautiful displays. Love it and can recommend a visit!

Came without any expectations, but we really enjoyed the exhibition. It’s a nice attraction for a short tour of you are passing in town. Vast collection of rare and beautiful shells. Entrance fee was 20R when we came.

The museum offers more than you would expect. When you enter the building you are greated by a friendly person at reception. Once you have paid you meager entrance fee you have two options. One is a short history of the people and ships of the region. The other is the shell museum itself. Entering the main hall you will be stunned by the shear number of different shells of various sizes, shapes, colours and textures. A visit to this museum will make you realise what true bounty the ocean has to offer and what you can find if you are willing to explore.

A very interesting museum providing insights into the local history of the region while sharing a marvellous collection of seashells. The curator was incredibly attentive and personable sharing interesting facts about the collection. Would strongly recommend dropping by when in the area.
