Kingfisher Restaurant
Lovely little place in the game reserve. The view is simply beautiful over looking a small dam that sings with bush birds. Over and above the view of the dam, animals like zebra are likely to wonder into your lunch time view.The wait staff is polite and accommodating albeit a tad bit slow. The food is good for the location and well portioned and not too expensive.

I discovered this gem of a restaurant through google and I was so happy we came here to eat during our game drive !We ordered the cheese beef fillet and it was honestly one of the best and softest filet I’ve ever tried.The staff was really friendly and the food arrived quickly ! Will definitely come back and enjoy some beautiful lunch overlooking the small lake ❤️Ps. Make sure you book it you want to eat in a cook spot overlooking the lake!

My favourite experience of the restaurant was the wildlife. It is something incredible to watch lots of birds and animals hunt and build their homes whilst you're eating some tasty food. We were fortunate to watch a kingfisher bird torpedoing into the water to catch food. We ordered the ostrich fillet and it was really well made and prepared well. It is not my favorite meat but the restaurant did a wonderful job. The servers were great and very helpful. I would really recommend having lunch here.

Absolutely gorgeous!We went as a group for dinner and found the place to be breathtaking from what we could see. I can only imagine it being so much more amazing during the day, hence I would suggest it best that you go during the day to get a better visual on what the surroundings have to offer.The food was delightful and delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was also very impressed as I had ordered the prawn and chicken Thai curry and had asked them to make it hot, to which they did, and unlike other restaurants where they dump previously chopped chilies that have an off odour, they used fresh chilies and incorporated it well into the dish. Most ordered steaks and had their meat made to perfection. They have a superb team in the kitchen that’s for sure!I wouldn’t consider it to be expensive but because it’s based in the park itself, if you have stayed for more than a particular amount of time you’ll have to pay a fee to exit the park.I personally found this to be absurd as we had three vehicles that entered and had to pay for each individually which became quite heavy after paying for the bill at the restaurant. Perhaps the restaurant should look into speaking to the reserve about their guests and that Highway robbery fee.Regardless, I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that asks.

Great sunset views. Excellent menu. Great service.Unfortunately I did not enjoy the Thai curry. But my husband enjoyed his steak.

We enjoyed our lunch altough we were looking to have breakfast but breakfast ends at 10 am and had to wait for lunch which started at 11. Lovely atmosphere sitting right next to the damn, enjoying the animals as they come to drink.

How nice! We had lovely dinner here to celebrate my birthday and sat on the deck, hearing sounds of nature. It was dark, but we could hear the hippos. We had really good service too which we appreciate so much, thank you. This is definitely a restaurant I would want to visit again.

We decided to have dinner here after our game drive. We didn't realise that it was just about fully booked and thought we would have to go elsewhere. The staff were amazing! They told us not to worry they would make a plan. They proceeded to find a table and chairs and carry them up stairs to a landing where we could sit and have dinner. The staff were polite and friendly which put us at ease. A big thanks to all of them! The meal was well prepared and presented. The price was affordable and we left satisfied.The restaurant is set on a dam. The sun set was beautiful and those cold beers went down well. We watched the kingfisher hover over the water and catch a fish. Such a great setting. This restaurant is well worth visiting if you are in the area, just be sure to phone ahead to ensure there is space available.
