Waterfall Hike
While the views are absolutely spectacular, please do note: this hike is not a paved walk on the coast. You’re literally climbing through rocks and co. for an hour. We needed 1,5h for 3km to the waterfall. Was it worth it? I don’t know. But the views are nice!

Waterfall Hike
The route to the waterfall from the rest camp is not easy and long. It is better to start the route in the morning when it is not very hot or at any time on a cool day. You will see a beautiful ocean and large rocks that you have to walk on and beautiful views of the mountains. When you reach the waterfall you will have the opportunity to swim in a cold lake, but it is worth doing and it will be a wonderful reward for your long and difficult journey.

This trail can be anything between 1-5 stars. Overall, I enjoyed the views and nature vibe around. However, I wish I had read more about this trail before going there.Few things to note: this is not an easy trail, 2/3 of distance is through rocks where you have to be careful and even climb. We had sport shoes and I would recommend trekking shoes for this trail. I'm surprised there was no information about the difficulty level. Also, we are young and somewhat fit but it was challenging. The waterfall was beautiful, there was also a small bay to swim in after first 30 minutes of walking which was amazing.

My favourite hike! Not recommended for beginners - but so worth it when you get to the waterfall and enjoy an icy swim. The hike is about 1.5 hours each way. Wear your bathing suit before starting the hike and bring lots of snacks and water. Enjoy!

Amazing hiking trial. The first day leg of the Otter Trail. Incredible coastal views as you hike towards the Guano Cave and Waterfall. Day visitors can enjoy a exciting hike to the waterfall and back. Plenty of nature and animals on offer for the photographer to take some time admiring the beauty of the area.

Waterfall Hike
The waterfall hike is part of day 1 of the Otter Trail, but it is also an out and back hike for day visitors at the Tsitsikamma National Park. The hike isn’t very long, it took us less than an hour to get there and it’s relatively easy (there were families with kids). It’s better to go at low tide, but you can make it at high tide as well. There is an entrance fee to the park of R65 per adult at the time of writing.

Waterfall Hike
Nice hike to the waterfall. The route is 3km one way, and 3km back. It isn’t an easy hike however, and unless you have good hiking shoes and have experience with rock scrambling, be prepared to be challenged. I took about 1 hour 45 mins to go to the cave, and decided to turn back. That was only halfway. Nonetheless it’s enjoyable and if I go back to Storms River Mouth, I’d bring better shoes and attempt the hike again.

Waterfall Hike
A beautiful hike. However, I did not finish it. The big boulders were wet and slippery. I was on my own. There was a narrow ridge to hike and hold onto other parts of the rock. A truly great hike but recommend to be fit and flexable. I had nituced some other people did nit go further.

A beautiful, challenging hike. The scenery is magnificient. The rocks are indeed slippery! Having water and a little snack might be a good idea.
