Hluleka Beach

Peaceful, it's go to place when you need to refresh, reboot.at a reasonable price.

The accommodation is spacious, well appointed and the interior is light and modern. The road inside the reserve is bad and one is not allowed to drive any further than the accommodation. Hiking trails are not marked, overgrown and seem to exist mostly on paper. That leaves the beach which is very safe. We walked a short distance of the Wild Coast trail inside the reserve. Wild life was limited: 3 zebras and some birds. We saw some spoor of buck and otters(?). Apparantly, in 2019 a young couple was attacked in their unit by unknown men and the woman was stabbed to death. At night a security guard patrols the area, possibly in response to the murder.

Beautiful place to explore, relax and swim.

Had no reservation but they accommodated us. What a gem of the Transkei. Houses are beautifully refurbished (or still very new) and views are spectacular. Very peaceful. Remember to bring own food and water.

I didn't get to the beach. But from a distance, it looked splendid. The fact that you can have the best of the times privately, away from the public is even better, especially during the pandemic.

Hluleka Nature Reserve is ond of the unknown gems of this country

Beautiful restful time at Hluleka nature reserve. Not much else to do but rest and enjoy beautiful nature.
