We purchased a property and our agent was Keith Coetzee. In the beginning he was on top of his game, we put in a counter offer, which was accepted. Once our bond was approved and with the attorneys, he sent a Whatsapp message to say the Seller has a shortfall of 20K and we should increase our offer. I felt that this was highly unacceptable request as all the contractual conditions have been met, making the sale official. If there was a shortfall, the Seller/Agent should not have accepted our offer. This left a very sour taste in our mouths. Since then, all communications from Keith slowed down, we had to contact him to ask when we could get the keys. When we received the keys, he didn't even walk us through the property to make sure everything is walking, he just waited till we entered and then hurriedly left. (My sister in law recently bought and her agent walked her through the entire house, checked every light, tap, window, stove and extractor fan and air conditioners where in working order before leaving) Their agent even brought a congratulations gift. Keith did absolutely none of this. Very disappointing, the 20k was not our fault and we should not have been treated like it was. So very disappointed with the service received.

We did not get the opportunity to view the rental apartment, excuse about the previous tenant not being available to show. We took the flat on basis of a video we were sent.The flat was not 69m square as told, but is only 50m square.You must pay a cleaning deposit when you take residence, but the flat was not cleaned for the price we paid.Then we found out every three months a physical inspection must be done and there is a fine for a no show should you cancel. Photos are taken all over again, lots of photos.Now our lease of 8 months come to an end I they pushing for a 12month lease with prices increased and top up deposit. All under deadline. I had three days deadline and if you ignore it count it that you in agreement.HARCOURTS DUNN - DONT STEP UNDER THE BLACK CLOUD WITH SWORD OVER YOUR HEAD.

We received very good service from Werner Nysschen from Harcourts Dunn when facilitating the sale of two of our properties and buying another property. Werner made sure to keep us up to date and he did a very good job to make sure that the sale of our properties and the buying of our new property were smooth sailing and that the registration and occupation took place without any issues.

The agent who helped us find the place was good but the service there after was terrible. They kept our R10000 deposit and demanded more, without giving us an itemised bill. They also didn’t give us an opportunity to fix the “issues”. We felt it was merely “upgrades” and not “repairs” which we ended up paying for. I would not recommend Harcourts Dunn. Enter with caution.

The agent is good at some places and to some people but when it comes to maintenance it's bad extremely bad. All they tell you is put all your problems regarding maintenance to the link that they have and when you do so you wait 2-3months until the matter will be sorted out. Don't know if it's because I'm black because I'm sure the request of the other race gets sorted immediately. We moved in a unit a year ago and because the was a water bust we decided we will not sign the lease. It's time for us to renew our contract we did and signed that contract. They only realizing that the previous year's one is not on their records. When we moved last year there was a water bust and the cupboard under the sick got wet and is now swollen and washing machine pipe smells. With the pipe smell they told us all the tenants are complaining about the samething but nothing is done about that. Since today it's not fixed and I'm sure by the time we leave here they will pin it on us forgetting that we had sent requests to have it fixed. I'm sick and tired of these people. You send them Whatsapp they just blue tick you but they expect your rent money to be in time but their service is delayed. I regret renewing my lease I wish I had looked for a place somewhere else.

Avoid Harcourts. Avoid Maureen Mathee.I bought a flat cash from her. In the OTP I stated vacant occupation. The seller ( who was apparently a friend of hers, or maybe not, the stories fluctuated quite significantly ) did not give notice and now, over 2 and a half months after I paid for the flat, it is still not done. To make things worse, she tried to get me to keep these tenants! I told her they are trouble, and she was full of stories. Now she is stuck with them, and I have to make arrangements to get the interim rent. And she gives no feedback. Just go quiet. If I do not follow up constantly nothing happens. For example - I told her I'm unhappy and will be complaining, she is quiet again.There are many agents selling investment flats, use anyone except these guys.Edit - the saga continues. Mareen have not made contact yet, she does not keep to a OTP. I propose you get a senior agent when dealing in investment properties from another reputable company.Last Edit - I have my flat. 3 and a half months after a OTP was signed in a cash deal it is done. If you are looking for speed and service, ignore Harcourts.

Our second property we bought through Harcourts Dunn. They also arranged for the same property to be rented out to tenants. This was 4 years ago and we are still with Harcourts Dunn and are extremely happy with there service. Our month lease payments are always on time.

Harcourts Dunn is the worst agency i have ever dealt is. they completely disregard your complaints and enquiries, no one ever responds to your email but they are quick to remind you of your rent.
