I really wanted to like this small, independent restaurant. Anyone who pursues their food passion is a hero to me. Sadly, the food kinda fell flat.The crystal salad roll tasted good but was weepy and flaccid, while the fried rice was fairly underwhelming with its bland palette. The bao was pretty basic with a generous dash of kewpie but very little else going on in terms of flavour.Their sushi was good though, and it's something I'd recommend off their menu.A bonus is no corkage charge when you bring your own drinks.Perhaps I was there on an off day. So support this independent restaurant despite my review.

We were quite underwhelmed with our food, we ordered dumplings (some fried and some steamed) and they were quite bland. The restaurant has an awesome atmosphere and friendly staff, the food unfortunately wasn't great and was missing something.

Dumpling Bar Ballito
This was my first experience at the Dumpling Bar and while the dumplings themselves were delicious and well made; I found the ramen lacking in flavour. The chicken tasted boiled and bland, the broth was weak and the entire dish could have used some spice. Overall it needed something to tie it together. The service received was good and welcoming.

Absolutely delicious, deeply flavourful, doughy and chewy dumplings - which is exactly why you go. But this time I ordered the Wonton noodle soup and wow! From the just-right crunchy veg to the excellent noodle ratio... It was so good, I could hoover up the leftovers cold (and that's an achievement! I don't do cold soup.) This is fantastic food, not oily and it hits all the right notes from salty, to spicy to tangy. The Dumpling Bar is that kind of place that you'll visit for a soul-satisfying meal.

Decided we would like to try the dumplings. Although tasty I felt the portions rather small for the price. Drinks were really expensive! Great service and I'm sure the other dishes would be value for money.

This is the 2nd time we have been here now. The first time we were disappointed but we like giving people a 2nd chance. We are still disappointed.We ordered quite a bit of food. The sweet an sour chicken portion was so small and you could count on one hand the amount chicken in the dish.The steamed filled buns were so hard and dry on the outside with barely anything in it.The pot stickers (dumplings) were gummy!I'm not someone to post reviews but for the prices you need to give better quality.Staff was very friendly though

Lovely atmosphere and service. However, the meals left much to be desired. The chicken and prawn dumplings lacked flavour, although well cooked. The main meals were especially disappointing. Although the Korean sticky chicken had great flavour, the portion was kids size. They gave us very small noodle portions, especially for the price. Overall, it felt overpriced and lacking the wow factor. We left hungry.

Quaint and good value for money.Ordered the Brisket noodle bowl and it was delicious.Sushi was fresh and appetising, this is the Prawn AvalancheOpted for fried dumplings, fairly good.All in all, a nice little spot to try.
