Checkers De Grendel

Awful experience everytime I go there. Either they will argue with us at the tills about prices or their quality of goods are rotten. This was the last time we'll be shopping at Checkers. Food Lovers is more professional and friendly towards their customers, their goods are always fresh and the services always try and help with any problems that may arise.

This checkers is seriously dropping their standards. On Friday my husband bought Portuguese rolls which had passed their sell by date and unfortunately only realized when he got home. We took them back on Saturday for a refund and I bought a bag of plums and a punnet of stir-fry veg. Half the bag of plums were rotten and all the peppers in the veg mix had gone bad and started spoiling the rest of the veg. Mind you both items were apparently still within thier sell-by dates. Don't have the energy for another visit. I'm incredibly disappointed and will be steering away from the fruit, veg and bakery for now.

It was good..when I wanted to purchase smoked snoek pate..the date on there was 10 June and it was the 17th already..so was just a bit concerned about dates on items..otherwise friendly staff..had to look for the disabled sign at the till..very small..can hardly see..also staff must be educated on disabled till point..when they see someone at the till point with a crutch or what so ever then please explain to customers that they must be assisted first..

I like the variety that they have in stock, especially vegetarian/vegan products. Loadshedding doesn't affect operations. The shopping center isn't too busy, so it is easier to just pop in for what you need, without long queues when it comes to paying. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Checkers De Grendel is a very clean store that is laid out so that you can find the products easily. The foods that they sell are always fresh and well made. The staff members were kind to us. The store manager, named Ricardo, is absolutely amazing and will assist the customer at any time, no matter how big or small the request is. I shop at Checkers De Grendel because of these reasons and even though there are other big retailers nearby, I will always choose to shop here.

I recently visited a Checkers shopping center and I have to say, I was impressed with the variety of groceries they had on offer. From fresh produce to packaged goods, they seemed to have everything I needed for my grocery shopping trip. The store was well organized and easy to navigate, making it a breeze to find what I was looking for.But what really stood out to me was the customer service. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. They were happy to answer my questions and even provided me with some great recommendations for products that I hadn't tried before.The prices were also very reasonable, which is always a plus when you're trying to stick to a budget. And, to top it all off, the store was clean and well-maintained.Overall, I had a great experience at this Checkers shopping center and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a wide selection of groceries and top-notch customer service. Whether you're a seasoned shopper or a newbie, you'll feel right at home at this store.

Everything is usually fantastic, but for the last 3 times in a row, when we buy the Pork Neck Steaks whatever the sell by date says, is absolute rubbish. Once again tonight. The pork is rancid, sour smelling and grey looking. Sell by date says 27th, I think it was off about 5 days ago. We will never by meat from this Checkers again this was the last straw. They have cost us money as now we must go out for dinner, AGAIN!!!

Pretty good selection, generally good service. Prices are good. The only major problem they have, is that the tils are in line with the isles, so it's horrible waiting in line as you have to constantly move back and forth to allow people past or around you. The manager is great guy as well. Always incredibly friendly and attentive.

I love it here, the shop is very clean. Fresh produce and everything neatly packed where they belong. The only thing I have to be on the lookout for, is those 60 seconds staff who are always in a rush & not looking, their eyes glued on their screen tablet thing...

Very nice and modern store! Well laid and spaced out. Has various sections dedicated to certain foods types and even a pharmacy area. Staff are friendly and attentive.
