Excellent hotel and restaurant in Steytlerville -definitely off the beaten path, this place offers comfortable accommodation along with a great restaurant and bar. Have a seat on their verandah, have dinner, and see if more than twenty cars drive by in that time! The food was excellent, both for dinner and for breakfast and the service was friendly and welcoming. A great place to stay when visiting the Karoo!

What a treat in the Karoo! Swimming pool in the garden, enjoying breakfast, reading and sleeping soundly in the air-conditioned bedroom. The facilities, décor, furniture and buildings were all charming. Well done to Johan Trollip, artist and manager, and his team. We were served with smiles, professionalism and dedication. And Johan’s beautiful paintings add a special touch.

The Royal Hotel is a hidden gem in the Karoo. Roads are good.The food is great, service excellent and hotel is spotlessly clean, neat and organized.Definitely worth two night or more.

I was with my PARENTS...and we couldn't drive further so we decided to sleep here. I really enjoyed this place and it had a great pool. The things that put me off was when we moved the bed a bunch of mosquitoes came out. The next day when we were going to leave the Chef messed up my order, I asked for a hard egg and she gave ne a soft egg. When I couldn't eat the soft egg anymore because I didn't like it the waiter came and called me thin. How Rude.

Ah what can I say....I love this place. Beautiful rooms, super clean and neat. Food are super delicious and tasty. Staff so kind, friendly and helpful. I love this place...Will def be back and can honestly recommend this place to everyone....

Very pleasant hotel, all were what was expected, clean, staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are large, beds are soft, bathrooms are well appointed, the supper and breakfast is delicious.

Excellent value for money! Friendly staff who go out their way for your every need! Special mention to Francois- stellar job! Food was very tasty, nice variety to choose from! Excellent Oyster shooters!!!
