The reason giving it only a 2 star - Hostess was friendly and super willing to let us taste wine and buy some, but they had no stock to purchase. The Problem started when we tried to phone them prior to visiting, the contact number on the website was no longer in working order and there's no alternative number published, although they do have another number assigned. Also a bit sad that the place seems a bit dead"

Had breakfast here as a group aft34 a wedding. Beautiful view, great service, lovely breakfast! Will definitely go again if in the area

My wife and I had breakfast here on 28th September, 2022.This was between 10h30 and 11am. Loadshedding ended at 10am and we were assured they could accomodate us. I had bacon, eggs, boerewors, fried tamato, mushrooms and toast. I requested medium eggs and received rubbery hard eggs. The rest of the breakfast was’nt great either. (It tasted like old food that was reheated) I reported my displeasure with the waiter, and she said she would give feedback to the Chef. I requested to speak to the Manager but was informed he was unavailable. The Chef came instead. I shared my disappointment on the hard rubbery eggs. She responded by asking why I did not reject the breakfast before finishing it. I told her that pinning this on me was unacceptable. She then said the only thing she could do was to apologize. I settled the bill in full. On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate this experience a 3. Worst R95 breakfast I have ever had, and the Chef’s handling if the situation schocking.

Staff was very friendly and I really enjoyed my stay. I was upgraded to a bigger room.

A little piece of heaven in the Overberg. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Food is tasty and the staff are super friendly

The place is beautiful and has a lot of potential but is definitely not worth the 5stars. The rooms are very average, no back-up for loadshedding, dirty/brown water, torn gowns, no activities listed were available, no room service etc, not sure how they got 5star rating. Would not recommmend.

Expectations was high as it was supposed to be 5-star but was very disappointed. Service at the restaurant was friendly and the food was great. We stayed at a 4-star place the day after and Jan Harmsgat did not even compare to a 4-star place. Would not recommend in future(personal opinion).Room was average(Not 5 star) and the bathrobes was old and had holes in it.

Beautiful location. Super friendly staff... amazing food
