Very beautiful friendly staff, however the place needs elevators or lift if you forgot something in the car and you stay on the last floor. You are in for a bit of gym. Bit disappointed I was hoping to get sea viewing rooms. Overall nice place, delicious breakfast

We were there for a wedding and we received excellent service throughout the whole weekend. When we asked for anything they immediately helped. All the staff members are friendly and helpful, even when there were multiple functions to prepare for. We enjoyed and appreciated the family rooms. Great view of the ocean from our room.

The Umtheunzi Hotel is one of the best hotels I've been to. Staff is very friendly, and food is amazing no matter what time of the day. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and the beds are flipping amazing after an amazing night at the bar. From a person who lives in Pietermaritzburg, I would definitely go there again.
