We have now lived with our window and door systems provided by Open Windows and Doors for just over a year, we have Viridian Lightbridge Energy Performance Double Glazed Units fitted in Residential and some Magnum frames, we also have Awning windows, sliding windows, fixed windows, bi-fold doors , sliding doors and front entry and french doors so a good selection. We have found the performance and quality of all products installed to be of a very high standard, the thermal performance of them has been exceptional both keeping the heat in during the winter and out during the summer, we do not have air-con so this has been a big plus.On the few occasions we have had to contact Open Windows and Doors they have always been helpful. We can highly recommend them to anyone who has an eye for a quality product

I had a sliding door that let in water during rain storms. Several people in the building industry looked at the door and were unable to diagnose the problem. “Open Windows and Doors” diagnosed the problem and fixed the problem by replacing what turned out to be a poorly installed door. The staff at “Open Windows and Doors” were fast efficient and friendly. I highly recommend “Open Windows and Doors”.

Superb quality windows, screens, locks and fittings were installed expertly by careful and polite workmen. This was our second and final series of windows; I was so satisfied with first ones that I insisted on the same company to complete the retrofitting of the remaining windows in house. My very picky handyman also commends the workmanship. Thx guys!

I waited some time before posting, as my main issue was wind and water. We have a 3-year-old house that as built by a well-known WA ‘building Group’. This builder uses budget products to come in under price to a range of other quality builder. Little did we know how bad these were. As early as Pre-handover, we had the window company come out to reseal several leaking windows. This continues for the whole 2-3 years’ time, constantly calling the builder about ongoing water leaks. We reached our point on the 7th revisit to attend to leaking windows. Each time we had to have an annual leave day from work, so they could attend. Sometimes they even cancelled asking for a new date.Their basic design required the 3 mm Glass to be secured into the frame with a 4 mm double sided tape and then a plastic moulding on to the inside.Well this design was totally inadequate for our coastal home. Winds up to 80 to 130 kms constantly buffered the front facing windows and we could visually see the 3 mm glass “flexing”. Then of course with the flexing of the glass, this allowed the tape to let go and then allowed water ingress again.Other issues were the side sliding door on the Upper Balcony whistled constantly, and the amount of wind draft coming in was a joke – like I could fly a kite with the volume coming thru. Lucky it wasn’t front facing to the Ocean.Wife and I searched in the local papers, Internet and attended the home expo in Subiaco. We were 90% thinking we should go UPVC double glazing, until further research indicated some people are having problems with UPVC Windows losing their gas in the window. Plus, another complaint was about Sliding doors rubbing against each other showing score marks where they slid together.Mandurah’s Local Glazier recommended the three front facing windows be replaced with a single piece glass 3m x 2.5m in 10mm thick. Wife was not happy with this solution as the appearance of house wouldn’t suit and unable to open anything to allow summer breeze in.After checking out several other manufactures we came across ‘Open Doors and Windows’ in Canning Vale. They recommended a Heavy-Duty frame same as they use in Cyclonic areas and combined it with 6mm Toughened glass. Also, as Open Doors and Windows staff knew the issues with coastal winds and rain. They automatically allowed for a full width Window Sill. Ensuring this Sill is taken over the front brick, again to ensure no driving rains can be forced under the window frame and leak into the house.Basically, think it as a ‘Z frame’ going over about 20 mm of the outer brick thru to the inner brick and going up 20mm sealing the window opening from water. Then they installed the window frame to this Sill creating a totally sealed area so no water can be forced in between the bricks, nor can it leak down the wall cavityWell this winter so far we had squally rains and 80km winds and these windows and the two 3m double stacking doors (we upgraded) have not allowed any water or wind thru. The 6mm glass has also quieten the noise from the rain hitting the glass. Allowing for a comfortable night’s sleep.I am Extremely happy with the Install and product and happy also for ‘Open Doors and Windows’ to refer their customers out home for inspection and face to face discussions. Note we are in Mandurah Halls Head area facing the Ocean.

Had 2 new windows installed by 'Open Windows and Doors' about a month ago. Great experience from the quotation to installation, really impressed by the professionalism of all the people involved in the process. Great quality double glazed aluminium windows. One section had a scratch which was only noticed after installation. It was replaced without hassle. Would highly recommend.
