Dome Pools MCSA Magaliesberg

This is a fun hike. You walk for a few km's and get to the dome pools and then hike back. The trails are fairly well marked and are easy to follow. My advice is to get there early. Hike to the dome pools before the African sun gets nice and strong. Also do hike up the river when u reach the main domes river. Rather take the trail on the left and walk a bit more.then when u above the start of the dome pools hike down to them. Like this u get to the dome pools faster. And are able to chill there for longer. On the way back go down along the river , which will be refreshing and lots of fun. Oh ya , expect to spend the whole day there (^_^)

Poorly marked especially at the beginning but so worth it. Not too technical or difficult

Loved the pools - Great hike. Beautiful and very relaxing. Would give it a 5 star if the path directions were better marked (eg painted arrows etc) and if the path was less overgrown..

The pools and waterfall are amazing, refreshing after the hike and very beautiful. The trail itself is not very challenging however its unmarked and the lack of signage makes it easy to get lost. A few signs at key points like the river crossings would be quite helpful.

In the beginning the trails are very confusing and not very well marked. Then towards the end it's very confusing. Climbing down to the rock pools is also very steep and not marked at all.

Beautiful trail. 11km done and dusted. This is definitely an advanced hike. For you to get to the pools there’s about a 1.5km steep walk/climb up the mountain. Worth every step and every breath as the pools are breathtaking. The trail is not marked at all so got lost a couple of times but thats part of the adventure. NB… DO NOT take the old road past Upper Deck restaurant to Mooinooi as that road’s just not drivable. Take the new highway.

Beautiful scenery! Unspoilt and no pollution!Had a nice hike with the Dendrological Society!

A beautiful leisurely hike, with marked paths. Not too difficult in my opinion. Abundant bird life, which made the hike extra special. We were there in mid-April so the weather was perfect for the 15km hike. The pools were cool and crisp and we could hear the sound of the running water long before we saw them. Beautiful.

Must say after months of anticipation I must say not the best hike, poorly demarcated and no real instructions on the correct path, Beautiful hike if you go with someone who knows the route.once the pools were reached it was breathtaking, but I do feel a few more Guide poles to be present would be great, or even a Map of sorts to be loaded on either garmin or Strava, and if there is already please add that to the maps sent out as we could not find it.We ran into a couple who hike for 3 hours and could not find the pools as we were hiking out 1KM away from the cars.The river crossing is not marked at all and the trail does not look like a walkable trail.Please can this be looked into..
