Car Service City - Claremont

This branch is quite slow with their work, issues pointed out when dropping the car was not checked properly. Beware to accept quotes for work to be done, rather get a second opinion or take your car elsewhere as it seems vehicle issues can be misdiagnosed at this branch and you will pay for repair work that is not needed.

As someone who knows enough about cars, the process is a time waste. I needed to come in to replace a rubber cv boot. Was told to come in the afternoon for an inspection while I wait. When I got there I was told I had to leave my car there without them even looking at the small issue which I could point out to them. Expect to pay a high inspection fee and to leave your car for at least 2hours even if you know what the problem is. This is before any work even gets done. Not worth the time I had to waste.

If I could give the team at Car Service City Claremont 6 stars I would. I have a 20 year old car that had been standing neglected for quite some time and they not only arranged a tow truck to come fetch the car but completely resurrected it.They kept me updated daily on the status of the work and provided detailed cost breakdowns before they did anything new (no surprise additions or necessary" replacements when collecting).Honestly can't recommend them enough

I sent my vehicle for a major service. I did ask for the replaced items to be given to me, but this never happened. ???? Most importantly, I can't remember when last I have been this angry. Whilst the vehicle is 10 years old and has a broken window switch, I received it back after their electrical inspection" with the cabin lights unable to switch off. when I confronted them

I have been coming here since they opened for car services. They have replaced a battery for me, and have helped with a number of other problems I had. A bolt had now broken that holds my engine, and they are going out of their way to fix it for me. Thank you guys. You are the best

I’ve always received exceptional service from Car Service City Claremont and my most recent major service was no different. The team is friendly and helpful and very informative. I don’t ever feel like they are “upselling” products or services that I don’t need, as has been my experience at other vendors. I know my vehicle is in good hands here.

Absolutely outstanding service! I can not recommend this place enough. The staff were so friendly and helpful and ran me through all the work done on my car in detail. They even provided me with the old parts they replaced. Great communication and customer care. My car was returned clean and running better than ever. I will be coming here for all future services and repairs.

I cannot thank these guys enough for sorting out my car, they literally gave me all my old parts and compared it to the new ones and pointed out what it is supposed to look like. Their prices are way better and the service they provide is impeccable to say the least compared to the agents I used to service my car at. Instead of messing me around, my problem has been sorted. I have sent my car for an engine oil leak repair at the Claremont branch on Thursday, 1 December 2022. I asked for an inspection and they said it was my crank and camshaft seals that were causing the leak. I got quoted R5 500 for the repairs and I accepted. They did the work, and while testing the vehicle they caused engine damage which resulted in an engineer coming to assess the vehicle. This quote came to R12 100, the branch offered to half this quote with me and I accepted. I went to fetch my car a week later on Wednesday, 7 December 2022, but my car was still leaking oil. It is, apparently, the oil pump that is now causing the oil leak. Which I going to cost me an extra R4 000 on top of everything else that I have already paid. It was apparently overlooked in the initial inspection that was supposed to be done when I first took the car to them.I've paid nearly R12 000 out of my pocket for work to be done yet the problem I sent my car in for is still not resolved. This is infuriating and extremely frustrating as this branch is keeping me in the dark about things. I am still waiting on a call from the branch manager to explain why my car is still leaking oil.Do yourself a favor and take your car elsewhere. This place is just going to stress you out and drain you of your money.

Something that doesn't make sense to me. I sent my car in for a major service and in the major service he said it is very important for me to change my platinum plugs and the high-pressure fuel filter but for my major service they quoted me on changing normal plugs and fuel filter that did not come off when I made payment. I have all of this in writing. Thats dishonest. They wanted to charge me an extra R3200.00 for the plugs and R800 for the high-pressure fuel filter along with the other stuff they said is wrong including brake fluid flush. My brakes were serviced by the agents last year. I also found one pipe loose from the air filter in which could make it look like she has a miss. So, I would come back to do the Platinum plugs. They better hope I don't find anything else wrong with it.
