This old Stable and feeding area have lovingly been refurbed into a winery tasting and Carmien Tea Room. The wines are delicious and the outdoor seating area lush and cooling. The fun is the old skew windows and uber thick walls. The labels are fun on the display and bottles and the manager super enthusiastic. This was the old Toll where toll had to be paid by wagons to cross over the pass. A great stop over for the entire family too. Parking is abundant but not too much shade unfortunately. Rolling well maintained lawns in front for kids to run and play and stretch their legs on.

Went to Piekenierskloof cellars in citrusdal, the lady just told is that we can't buy or taste wine there, have to go to the stall next to the road on N7 to cape TownQuite disappointing

I enjoyed everything the wine was Delicious , but would’ve like more information about the wines when they where presented it was only placed in front of me.I already recommended Piekenierskloof Wine Company to a friend and she will be coming soon. Hope she has an awesome experience like i did.

The friendly staff together with a pleasant atmosphere under the oak trees and lush lawns make the wine tasting even better then the roosterbrood is a must baked and prepared fresh daily

Recently visited is quaint little spot on the Piekenierskloof Pass with a friend. When we arrived, we visited the Deli Shop with no welcome from white lady at the entrance. We asked to sit outside and made our own way through the shop without any waiter enticing us to look around and what is available. We then realized that the Wine Tasting is at the back as this was the reason we came here on recommendation. After a bit, we left the Deli Shop, again with no acknowledgement from the staff present there. This could be adressed - friendlier faces makes customers feel more welcome! At the Tea Shop, a lovely lady served us and explain throughout the process of doing a wine and/or tea tasting or just having a bite to eat under the tree outside. After we found a lovely spot outside under the tree, we asked to do the wine tasting. The lady from the tea spot, explained everything, and after a while, the wines in glasses was just left on the table by the wine tasting girl. Eventhough the tasting was well appreciated by us, it would've been more lovely if it was presented like a real wine tasting in terms of the different wine brands, a bit of the history of the wines, even some anecdotes to make sure the wine tasting is an experience to remember. Hope this gets rectified to elevate this little gem even more! Oh, and the roosterkoeke were fantastic!
