Phefumula Country & Romantic Couple Retreat

Ideal retreat! Wonderful host and staff. The food was excellent. We really enjoyed the privacy in the lovely accommodation,and the tranquility that Phefumula offers.

An absolutely superb getaway up in the mountains. A romantic, secluded and beautiful experience which exceeds all expectations! Our stay at Leopards Leap was fantastic. Jenni and the staff are efficient and friendly and go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. The food is excellent, the scenery is breathtaking.I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to escape for a couple of days. We throughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to visit again.

Lovely place and very tranquil. Wonderful attention to detail and privacy, from not requiring guests to check in/out at a reception, to the complimentary sherry, and other items one would normally not find at such a cottage, e.g. dishwashing liquid, gowns and slippers, even ziplock bags for any leftover food! The dinner we ordered was for 2, but was probably enough for 4, and was absolutely scrumptious! Well worth a visit, thanks Jenni.

If you are looking for a romantic getaway, Phefumula is the place. From the outside Jacuzzi to the inside fireplace and the chef that comes to you to cook and serve you breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then there is the hike to the top of the magalies mountains with breathtaking views. The pics on the website does not do justice to how good the units really are. I would certainly recommend this place.

We went for a hiking trail and got lost due to lack of markings from the start to finish. We didn't feel it was worth the distance we travelled to experience what we saw on their website.The owners are definitely the MOST friendliest beings I ever metAnd I believe their superb customer service coupled with a bit of investment/reinvestment into their business can see them in the Top 3, not unless if this is not their core business offering.

a lovely break, having returned from a holiday in USA, then catching up the summer sun in warm SA. Jenni your hospitality was really warm and humble. it felt as if we knew each other for years. the supper prepared by you and your team, was just what we needed, home made traditional. nothing to fancy, but what one needs in the outdoors, because that's what a break from city life deserves. Denise and I are coming back very soon. your retreat deserves a 4 star for its homely feel, traditional old school atmosphere that reminds me of my child hood day, dirt roads, mixture of new and old furniture, the bush, sound of wild life, dirt road, just to mention a few. to all this is not a hotel, but if you want some romance, relax, no TV, time to read and relax, go for a walk, and have a braai while laying in the sun, sip on wine or a cold beer. then come a visit. Had a wonderful stay at Phefumula, the Rhino Fields unit is fantastic, secluded, and had everything one would need. The splash pool and outside bath was a treat and the trail up the mountain was a good walk with easy to follow markers. Jenni was on call and very accommodating. I was overall very happy with the experience and feel completely relaxed and revived.
