Greenstone Hill parkrun

Challenging course, expect rocky paths, long grass, mud, hills and no trees for shade. Can park a few hundred metres from start at KFC

It was easy course, but very uneven & muddy. My wife is blind,so it not pleasant as she slipping & sliding most of the course. I will not going back again, sorry.

The biggest issue in this parkrun I am afraid is the very limited parking space. Because you get parked in, there seems to be no motivation in finishing your race or going for your PB since you will need to wait another 30 mins just to get out so you might as well just walk this route. As for the parkrun itself, it is all trail and it feels like you running in circles half the time. There is not much incline and it is pretty flat. There is nothing really special about this trail run. However, the organisation from the race director is solid.

Had a muddy run at this parkrun. The enthusiasm of volunteers and runners made it worth it

Much better running in summer when everything is a bit greener. Two long uphills to test your ability to get a good PB

Tough tun, specialky as grass is very long and you can't see where you puttin your feet down while running, also all the rubbish that you have to see during your run

The parkrun itself was OK. The loops threw me for a loop. The surface was uneven for most of the trial. Parking at the venue is not sufficient. A parkrun is a parkrun though and the volunteers made the run worth the while

Wet, muddy, and slippery but fun. Fortunately no rain (which was forecast). Get there early for parking at the start, otherwise at Food Lovers Market & walk there (and give yourself time). An enthusiastic run director had us going in no time. Except for small section at the beginning the course loops around the open land with power lines taking power from Kelvin Power station to Joburg. The downhill section gives a good view of this, then the climb. All of the run is on track, and when wet is slippery, so lots of careful footwork on the day was required after the first rains of summer. No Marshalls along the route but except for some parts the course is well marked out. Look out for some interesting plants, and we spotted three owl boxes put up by enthusiastic local birders (well done!). Unfortunately a Common Myna had occupied one. The scars of illegal dumping are evident along the route, but the climb on the Southern side gives one a good sense of what the land was like without. Not crowded with 112 runners on the day. Dogs allowed, not for prams, no toilet facilities on site. Thanks to the Volunteers. We headed for breakfast at the Red Door Café in Edenvale - highly recommended !

Great run with lots of dips and hills. But I would only recommend if it hasn't rained in the past few days, otherwise it's a slippery, muddy mess and your feet get stuck int he deep mud :( unless that's your vibe, then go for it! :D

The course is probably the most boring one I've experienced. Zig-zagging makes it very confusing and difficult to overtake people. The parking is a nightmare. I would rather drive 20min to a different parkrun. Done this one twice and regretted it each time
