Vantyi & Vantyi Funeral Undertaker

We paid for the full service which includes the collection of my father's remains from the hospital mortuary and storage at their premises in Booi Street. That never happened, the body remained at the government mortuary for the entire week. They maintained that the body was already collected and it was in their mortuary but was being prepared and not in the best condition to be viewed.We made a booking for viewing at 10h00 on the Friday. We got sent from pillar to post, no one gave me straight answers as to why there was an hour delay. Staff members kept talking in hushed tones among themselves until we demanded an urgent meeting with the person in charge. That is how we discovered what had happened.The funeral was scheduled for the Sunday morning 9am. I assumed everyone dealing with our file knew this. To my surprise, one of the staff members kept verifying the time of the funeral on Saturday! We've been telling them all week that the funeral service will take place on Sunday!!!! I had to wake up very early on the Saturday morning to ensure that our departed father's casket was not delivered on the Saturday morning.Our grieving mother & the entire family had been through a lot of emotional trauma at the hands of the Vantyi & Vantyi Funeral Home.Lastly, on the morning of the funeral, they decided to depart very early before 7am with the body ( from the funeral home to our home in Motherwell). We made prior arrangements with them that male members of the clan will come and perform customary rituals / short service at the funeral home first. They drove all the way to the family home, 25km away, only to be turned back as there was no senior members of the family to welcome them there. It was a real mess.My overall experience was that, some Black businesses get to a point where they lose have no respect for their clients, they lose respect for the very business that placed them where they are today.The funeral service was on the 07/06/2020. I thought by this time I would have received some form of an apology from the owner Mr Mhlangovuyo Vantyi as he was not around when this whole drama unfolded.Today (26 /06 /20) marks the twentieth day post burial, still no word from Vantyi and Vantyi.Dr Mbulelo Mengu.
