Such a gem where one can appreciate nature around you. On the edge of the beach - keeping life simple. We would definitely recommend On The Rocks if you are looking for good fresh sea food at a great priceThe choice was very limited, to fish & chips & fish cakes on the day we were there - your food is freshly prepared and served in the good old fashioned way!

One of the best places in Paternoster to quench your lust for fish and chips. They really have excellent fish and chips and it is a must eat/order item when visiting Paternoster.

Love it. The best fresh friend and really delicious chips while you wait. And the staff are super, really nice people. Make an effort and visit them if you want to treat your taste buds to some awesome fish and chips

Value for money! The fish and chips are very good and a decent portion. Understandably, the cost per dish is fixed at R70 so the portions of calamari and crayfish gets smaller.

Perfect for a beach outing. Eat your oily fish and chips at the wooden tables, meters away from a stunning beach. No pretense here. Mingle with the locals as you eat your meal off paper. Also offers cold drinks. Follow up with a stroll on the beach, often with very few people, especially in late winter and early spring, before the crowds arrive for the holidays. Watch the locals come in with their small boats, heavy from the days catch.

My order of hake and chips plus fanta was taken. I was the only customer waiting. My hake was placed in oil to fry. Both ladies then sat at counter with cell phones, my fish forgotten in fryer. The fish was so dry, it could only be eaten at home, drenched in mayonaise. Very very dissappointing and definitely not reccomendable anymore. Personally I will never support them again. There are many other restaurants who serve fabulous seafood dishes where you get excellent value for money. This place is a no go zone!!!!!

Best EVER fish and chips and calamari in Paternoster, but boy you've got to find it as there's a big construction site and it's just about in the middle where the open fish market used to be. Our orders were made there and then super and fresh. Worth looking for this place in Paternoster
