Rue Guesthouse

Excellent stay!!! Great food and a big thank you to Diné, Maraaitjie and Meitjie to make our working stay a memorable stay!!!

Quiet, breakfast is deliscious, very clean and neat rooms equipped with everything you need and the service is great.

Guesthouse was locked when we arrived, and we had to call the owner to open up for us. The rooms weren’t even ready - we had to wait approximately two hours for them to clean and prepare the rooms for us.The eating area/cafe was very dirty - and I don’t think they’re planning to clean up that area.Upon our arrival we realised that WiFi was not working on Apple products and that was accompanied by stage six load shedding. They do not have any back up power, therefore it is dark whenever there is load shedding. In addition, there is a lot of noise from the surrounding areas and which makes it hard to sleep or do any work.The breakfast pack provided is below standard - seems like already made store bought products that are packed into one.The bed was uncomfortable and sheets are a bit off colour or - they’re either dirty or very old. The shower doesn’t have a soap holder, and the bathroom has no window or extractor fan.The location feels unsafe at night. The parking area is not safe as cars are just parked outside the guesthouse. Alternatively, the neighbour’s property is used as a parking space at night.This is clearly false advertising, the accommodation is not as it looks on the picture, this is not a boutique or a hotel but it is an old cafe with four backrooms used as a guesthouse. I wouldn’t recommend this place for leisure or work. And I hope they improve all the things stated above.

Cafe Lola's at Rue is a great place to have breakfast or a small get together with friends.

Excellent accommodation. Brilliant food. Helpful and friendly staff. Well worth the stay. Hope to be back.
