Van der Stel Manor

We had a wonderful stay here for Christmas. We arrived exhausted after a long trip and felt instantly at home. Totally relaxed, and tranquil. Breakfast every day was delicious (don’t miss the scones!!) and it was a perfect base to explore the vineyards around. Couldn’t recommend here enough!

Awesome place to stay in Stellenbosch. Wonderful breakfast, beautiful rooms, comfy beds, quiet neighborhood, and very close to Tokara and Delaire Graff vineyards.

In a quiet part of Stellenbosch but still centrally located. This place ticked all the boxes for me, everyone was so friendly and welcoming, they made my stay an amazing one. The interior is beautifully decorated and everything feels luxurious and elegant. The breakfast and scones were so delicious, I have no words. Very clean property, well-trained staff. Top class!

We stayed here as a couple for 1 night and had an amazing time. Our room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable, with everything we needed. There is a lovely little pool to relax by, and the location of the lodge is great, in a very quiet part of Stellenbosch. But it was Ilsabet (the manager) who made such a huge difference - she was very warm and welcoming on our arrival, and organised/cooked such an outstanding breakfast. It truly was a highlight of our SA trip!

As soon as you arrive you are greeted by lovely staff and made to feel at home. Our room was incredible with our own little courtyard that we could then access the pool from. Despite being quite central it's very tranquil here. The breakfasts are incredible, make sure you don't have a big dinner the night before! Everything is freshly made including the scones!

Wow what an incredible stay! Ilzebet and her team are so warm, friendly and kind, and the rooms are super luxurious and comfortable. We loved the delicious breakfast, warm hospitality and lovely ambience.

What an adorable little manor. Our room was cozy but spacious and everyone was very kind. Beautiful views all around and pool area was so nice even in the winter. Breakfast was delicious and beds were sooo comfortable. Cannot wait to come back and recommend to others!

Outstanding place, people, breakfast rooms and service.1 night here is way too less. Also for Stellenbosch 1 night is not enough to enjoy. As soon you visited the Manor you would know why. We stayed here for 3 nights.Proud was one of the nicest people we met in our 3 weeks holiday. Nicest is an understatement. He's very very kind.Ilsebeth is very kind. A classy person. We would definitely run our place like she does. Very very very nice scones, muffins. She also was interested in her guests. We had a 'homecoming' feeling at her place with Proud.The rooms were very nice, fast Internet and were super clean. The bed was big. The gardens were very well maintained.We definitely loved our stay, would recommend this to everyone. As mentioned before, we also recommend staying here multiple nights. Not 1 night like many tours do. You'll definitely miss out.The area feels really safe. You also see a lot of people running in the morning and evening. We haven't seen this anywhere in SA. This told us this area is very safe.We went to Babel, must visit! Lovely garden.
