Super comfy and clean hostel in a nice location. Walk to cool restaurants and bars without worrying about safety. Nice staff and spacious environment.I was the only guest at the time but I had great chats with the staff and feel they went above and beyond to provide hospitality and recommendations.Highly recommended!

Amazing hostel in Johannesburg, I'm so happy I decided to stay here - will definitely come back next time I'm im Johannesburg. The place is brand new and sooo nice! Super comfy beds with plugs & storage space and a very beautiful common area including kitchen. The neighborhood is safe and Rosebank Mall is just 3km away. While it is not a party hostel, there are lots of bars and restaurants literally around the corner. Darron is super nice and was very helpful and responsive when my flight got canceled and welcomed me even when I got there in the middle of the night. Thanks for everything!!

I stayed at Explorers Backpackers for one night and I must say it is the best backpackers in Johannesburg. It is VERY clean, the location is convenient and the Manager - Darron is very friendly, helpful and considerate. I'd recommend it to all my friends and travelers who wish to travel to Johannesburg. Keep up the good work and standard Darron.

The owner is very fun and knowledgeable! He gave us tips about all of South Africa, including what to do in Kruger National Park, what do to on our drive to Cape Town, as well as things to do in Cape Town.The area that the hostel is in feels completely safe with good and close options for restaurants, bars, and grocery stores.The hostel itself is newly renovated and very clean. The kitchen is big an fully stocked. The beds are big and comfortable with plenty of outlets per bed. There is also a bar in the backyard for guests.It was only a little difficult to find since there was no sign. It looks just like a house in the neighborhood, but the address online is correct and all you have to do is ring the doorbell and the gate. So don't pass it by and stay there! I would 100% recommend Explorer Backpackers for anyone staying in Johannesburg!
