The Don Guest House

Very dirty and run down, dirty dishes standing around and broken dusty machinery stored in the rooms by the beds, no door on the bathroom definitely not 3 star accommodation.

I spent a night here. Really old school! What a great experience. Enjoyed the company of the hosts.

It managed to maintain a good level of accommodation expectations, as an overnight place.

I think it should be classified as a backpackers and not a guesthouse. Price charged was also guesthouse prices, but what we got was a backpackers. Many things did not work like the bed side lamps and no globe in one of the main room lights. Toilet only flushed after 5:30pm till later the eveing and after 5:30am, because they say they have water cuts, but don't give the times to their guests. Tap was loose at the basin. Swimming pool was dirty. We could hardly sleep since the wooden floors creak and people walked around till late at night. The dstv plug also makes a blue light so the room is not completely dark. There was only one set of towels for 2 guest put in the room. There was no milk at the coffee station or even a teaspoon to mix your coffee, luckily by chance we packed those things. The road in front of the guesthouse is uneven. I fell being 31 weeks pregnant luckilyon my knee, hand, and bum and not my stomach. The floors are very slippery so almost fell 2 times inside. I cut my finger and we asked for band aid the only band aid they had was in the lady's car. Should a guesthouse not have a first aid kit onsite especially in a small town. The staff was friendly.

On arrival at the venue around 13h00 pm our rooms were not ready and we were told to come back at 15:00 pm, although we made it clear on bookings that one room was for two guests and other room was for 5 persons but the room for 5 persons didn't have even a single towel and the other room had one set of towelsThe single beds mattresses condition was just a messWater crisis is a burning issue in Noupoort and the lady incharge knew about it but didn't make any arrangements for their guestsAs a result we left Noupoort very late due the fact that we're had to queue in for warm water in order to bath and she only provided one basin for 7 personsEy rally that place eds abackup plan

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, beds were neat and clean. We enjoyed our stay. There's a couple of practical improvement suggestions that can help a lot to increase the rating. Just enough for what we needed for one night.

Its clean budget accomodation. No tea/coffee station available and on a Friday night almost impossible to find anything in town. Communal kitchen. Very friendly service - I hope the upgrades they are planning will bring them up a step as the potential is there.

Owner was friendly however the overall accomodation was poor. The house felt run down, floor boards squeaked very loudly and none of the bathrooms had doors which was quite discomforting. Some rooms only had fans and some had mobile air conditioners however without ventilation tubes making them pointless. Only one towel was provided per room initially even with multiple occupants and had a very unpleasant smell. No toiletries were provided beyond hand soap and toilet paper. The beds were okay. There was secure parking however guests needed to plan the order they would be leaving as the parking was single file in a narrow section. The surroundings were also run down.

Great HOSPITALITY. Definitely be going back there. Most delicious breakfast ever.

Wow, what amazing hosts. Loved our stay. Breakfast was amazing (recommended the omelette). Clean, neat and very homely. Very very good value for money.
