The Golf Village Tygervalley

This review pertains only to the MiniGolf course.We haven’t been to the minigolf course in a few years and decided to take our kids for a round.The course is in total shambles (see pictures). Holes in the ground cover, trash everywhere and even the pipes that connect two holes together are blocked with mud and golf balls and no longer function. We lost two balls due to missing border bricks/planks.Very disappointing, you would be better off going tobogganing up the road.

We went to the Golf Village on the 30th of October 2021 with a few friends.Not the putt-putt experience I had in mind for our guests.The putt-putt tracks are in need of serious maintenance.The golf pitch needs fixing and there are many loose bricks everywhere.All the branches are dumped everywhere.Some track have missing planks.We could also smell sewerage at this venue. We saw a big pipe on the track. Not sure if it is a sewer pipe.There is also a little mini-shelter that we found on the track. Not sure if someone sleeps in the mini-shelter. There was clothing in the mini-shelter as well.It looks like there was a function as well, but no clean-up was done because there were many of those polystyrene cups on the ground.I'm attaching photos of the above as well.Will not recommend this putt-putt venue. There are some great venues in town such as Waterfront and Sea Point. But this venue will only see us again once they have done a proper maintenance on the venue.

This was our second visit, and we were really looking forward to go play some putt-putt. But boy were we disappointed. From the putters and the course to the surroundings, everything needs some much needed maintenance. The very first (blue) course is rundown with both filthy green and also empty ponds, torn green (with 2 of the holes without any green felt), overgrown gardens, damaged borders and garden refuge all around the course. We didn’t even carry on with the next 2 courses. It is sad that a gem like this has been neglected to this extend.

Driving range offers unlimited balls, chipping and putting for R190. InRange shot tracking was also added to the range. Don’t be fooled. The ball tracking is terrible. It tracks shots from players in adjacent bays and even further away. Range is OK for practice. Useless for tracking shots and App stats.

This is the state of the Putt Putt now. Ernie Els would be ashamed. My kid enjoyed himself, although we had to wait 20min for Putter to be available although there was only 4 kids his age/size playing.Debris, berries, palm leaves all over the course. No more water features. 4 holes unplayable.Yes, you must still pay just to play.This has been coming on now since 2019Today is 2021-04-28Clearly they in no rush to fix it

Shocking condition, cannot believe they actually still charging customers to use this facility. Should be closed and upgraded. I think 4 holes are without a felt surface, it's unplayable. Lot's of damaged felt around holes. Don't go there, it's a waste of time and money.

The putt-putt course is in a state of disrepair, plants are encroaching on many of the courses. Water features are dried up or filled with algae. Multiple courses have no surface to them making it unplayable. Some serious work needs to be put into this place to bring it up to its previous standard.No real complaints about the restaurant, they were a bit slow getting our food out to us but I'll chalk that down to new owners. They're still figuring things out. The quality of the food was good, I enjoyed my burger, the chips and onion rings were also tasty.

The course is a health hazard: we encountered a dead rat, thorny branches and rubble, litter, a sewage stench, stagnant water and low hanging branches on the course. We unknowingly played on a hole that has been closed to the public, but the signage was an A4 page which had blown over and was not visible. This course should be shut down until these issues have been resolved.

Started out with a breakfast at the pitch and putter which is great value for money and tasty food/coffee. Went over to the putt putt course for some mini golf, and sadly the course was in a different state than what I remember. You can see maintenance is not what it should be, and the water features that were in place is no longer there. Hoping they resolve this, as its great to see the trees nice and big after so many years which keeps the course cool in summer time.

The put put course is terribly run down and definitely not worth the money. I believe there is brand new management so, hopefully they'll revamp the place soon. Until then, I highly recommend the other courses.
