Chosen this branch for a family get together because of its fantastic views. The staff was friendly and the place was clean.Unfortunately the food was disappointing. We planned to order individual pans but thought ordering two platters, one for 2 and another for 4 people would be better value.Sadly the platter for 4 seemed to have significantly shrunk in size. My mom's platter for 2 was in the same size pan as the platter for 4 but much bigger portions. The fish (baby hake) and prawns was cooked superbly but calamari unfortunately rubbery.Overall experience, ok, food & value was the let down.

Food was well prepared and delicious.Service was poor, had to get up twice to ask for assistance, whilst the restaurant was not busy at all. Once the sun sets, there is no visual aspect drawing one to this establishment. The experience as a whole was disappointing, food was standard - what one would expect it should be when visiting OB. Although my salad ordered ( a staple whenever I go to OB) was dissatisfying and ill prepared. I only picked at it.

We live in the Upington and fresh seafood is a novelty. What a treat to visit this Ocean Basket. Ice cold Chardonnay. Wonderfully prepared seafood. Fresh and tasty. Lovely view and and Tessa was an attentive waitress. Excellent service.
