Ignite Fitness Claremont

The gym is nice, I love the vibe. Not so crowded as of now. Only problem I have is that there is no hot water. When do you think this is gonna be fixed?

This gym is nothing but a plot scheme for this business to make money. i was an international student at cape town paying for and ignite membership. eventually i came back home as i was done with uni. later on this year i received threats from the gym of unpaid fees. which i then paid later towards the start of the year. I then received another email for unpaid fees to a membership which was long cancelled and im not in the country, havent been for months and there still trying to bill me till this day. Your gym is very digusting towards all clients and international. how do you bill someone who hasn't been at your gym in over 6 months.

The gym has good equipment but most of the staff are very arrogant by the reception, I was treated so badly for 6 weeks they kept telling me they can’t upload my info, I had to stop going there for a month waiting so my info can be uploaded, later I was told I should reapply which I did, later I was told my membership card cannot upload this was six weeks on the row being told this and that about the application not going through, for two weeks I tried to enforce and kept on going there since I had already paid but everyday when I get to the reception, I would be asked my name, my ID then they will open, this happened for two full weeks until I decided to quit. The ignorance in that gym is so terrible.

It's very unfortunate that I have to leave this review because ignite could be a nice gym but is clearly not doing what it needs to do to get better. When signing up the debit order date was put through incorrectly 3 times and this is a constant recurring problem for many clients. Additionally at this specific branch there is no hot water and there are no working water coolers in the gym not a single working water cooler in a gym of all places. Clearly the gym is not investing in maintenance which is not a good sign. I would not recommend this gym.

Super frustrated with this place at the moment. I joined in September 2022 and there has NEVER been any hot water. How can you not have hot water for your members in the middle of winter? I cannot go to gym in the mornings before work because I won’t be able to shower afterwards.There is also no working water fountain on the ground level so you need to walk all the way to the one upstairs and there’s often a queue of people waiting to get water during peak times. Clearly a gym that’s just money hungry and has no concern for their members.

I did not receive any information from any sales representative about the gym's policies during load-shedding, I was charged double on my first month. Additionally, the gym has not addressed several issues, such as the scattered dumbbell weights or the lack of hot water for almost a month. Moreover, some of the gym equipment, like the leg press machine, poses a safety hazard. Overall, I feel deceived and extremely frustrated with my experience at this gym. It has now been around five months since the water supply has been disrupted, and the gym's apology for the inconvenience has become a monotonous part of our daily lives, as reflected in the attached photo. If anyone has advice as to how to cancel my contract please let me know.

Sorry to say, but the receptionist at Claremont branch is just useless.I called the branch to find out their rates / how to join etc. & instead of him saying something normal like Yes sure

I really dislike giving a bad review, however this will one of many in a long line of bad reviews for ignite fitness.I've signed up in October 2022, my sales rep had me sign up for 3 people to which I was only going to pay for 1 ( the additional 2 were my kids that would get a free 2 year membership ). I've paid for 3 cards and only received 1. Whenever we went to train they had to sign in as visitors.This sales rep Andrew " then left the gym

Unfortunately what was promised to what we experience on a day to day basis is far from one another.It has been months now of empty promises from management and higher ups to find a solution for loadshedding. There is still no lights and still no solution yet we are billed every month for services we cannot use properly.I have since asked if I can cancel my membership months ago and still have not been able to cancel my membership.The potential of what this gym could be to what state it is in now is so sad. A lost opportunity to compete with the likes of Virgin Active and Unfortunately the boat has sailed.The showers never have warm water and the water wells are always being repaired.I would have rated higher if changes were made months ago but nope we are just mere pawns to make them money.Will be moving over to crossfit district 6 and I would like my contract terminated as mentioned months ago.
