Great friendly customer service from Hein and Nigel! Both kindly addressed my concerns and answered my questions. Much appreciated! The Battery Centre was easy to find via Google Maps and it’s very easy to drive into their building. My car’s alternator was tested and found to be okay thankfully. The battery definitely needed replaced. Their Raylite battery has a 2 year guarantee and it may be tested at any Battery Centre every 6 months.

Have been here a few times, and they really deserve me reviewing them for a change. Always excellent, always very well priced and I always walk out feeling satisfied. And not only automotive batteries either. I even found Lithium batteries and chargers here.

Terrible customer service. I bought two 12v 100ah Gel batteries with the Battery Centre at R3000 each and they come with a 12 month warranty. I use them in series with a Mercer 2400kva 24V inverter to run one computer and an internet router during load shedding.The batteries started giving me problems after about 5 months (my previous batteries lasted 2 years on the same setup). I took the batteries in for testing at this Durbanville branch and they told me the batteries are healthy. Two months later the batteries don't last more than 20min so I take them in again and again they say they are healthy and that my inverter must be the problem.I had my inverter tested and I was told there was no problem so I bought a multimeter and tested my batteries under load myself at home. The one battery drops to 9.5V after about 20min so I record the test and head back to the Durbanville branch. Now that I have proof of a very simple test (how they can't get this right is beyond me), they are very unhappy but they replace the battery.Now I should mention that the day before when I had the batteries tested, my father was with me to replace his old batteries (he has the same setup as me). They tested both and found one to be faulty and then told him he should replace both because when one fails it usually damages the other battery. Given this information, I test my setup again with the new replacement battery and now the second (old) battery dips to 10V after about 35min.I take that battery in with my recording of my test and the manager tells me no he won't replace it and my setup is the problem. When I ask him why he was so happy so sell my father two batteries when only one was faulty he outright denied that any of my batteries were faulty and I'm the problem...I take the battery straight to the Bellville branch for testing and they find the battery faulty and replace it...Steer clear of this branch, they have no intention of honoring their warranties.

Prompt, friendly service. Good to see a technician working with the correct tools. I was amused that the sales person tried to force me to purchase the most expensive battery for the warranty. I took my chances on the cheapesr battery with a 6 month warranty. Watch this space.
