Great place, its best to get here early seeing that you need to get a driving pass at the kosi camp entrance and then drive to the kosi mouth entrance some 10km.The tides can catch you out when you go the the beach from the parking area with a huge sand back to cross and then only you reach the beach, the helpers with their canoes assist with great ease.A downfall to the car park area is that the locals party and drink here from time to time we visited on a public holiday, but with no hassles of any sort.Take you snorkeling gear and explore the channels made by die tide with lost of sea life.

It’s a magical place where you can feel completely isolated from the world and see tropical fish and coral in a lagoon. I love the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, it makes you want to stay in the water longer. The kids can play in the shallows. You do need a 4x4 to get to the mouth, but it’s well worth it.

One of the best beaches i have been to, the snorkelling is amazing. Unfortunately there are always people sitting and drinking in the parking lot making people feel uncomfortable and littering. Also be careful when driving to other beaches, there are fake cops in the rural areas that want to pull you over.

Beautiful, clean and quiet beach. Perfect for snorkling and enjoying nature. We saw the most beautiful fish species.

Great place to visit, snorkeling to the south of the mouth is definitely a must do. If you want to visit the beach make sure you pack lite as it's a bit of a walk and you will need to cross some deep channels. There is however the option to pay the locals to ferry and you and your belongings across the deeper channels. Fishing wise in winter it's pretty quiet. You are also limited as to where you can fish as you are only allowed to fish 400m to the north and 400m to the south of the month. There are some nice ledges to the south on the low tide.

Lovely place to go snorkeling, just don't go in a 2X4 while it's spring high tide, you will get stuck, when leaving you will discover the roads will be covered by sea , you will tell yourself you got this when in actual fact you do not have this and will then induce your own punishment by hiking a good 6 or 7 km with no signal to try find help. On this hike" you will question your life choices as it is uphill all the way

What a disgrace! You pay R60 per person and R65 per car to gain entry and then they don’t feel it necessary to clean their bathrooms!!I censored the picture a bit as it is extremely offensive to look at. It’s EVERYWHERE! This is the only bathroom available to guests as the other toilet is locked??!When we located some cleaning lady to complain she informed us that it is not their job to clean it?? She then took us close-by to another camp where the people who are supposedly responsible for cleaning are located. They just laughed at my mom as she tried explaining that this was unacceptable. The ONLY thing that makes this place worthy of the one star is the scenery. Nature stays beautiful at least.

Best snorkeling spot in the area. Take notice of the tides and the moon phases as both influence the water level and the strength of the current at the mouth and upstream where the best snorkeling spot is. A permit is required to enter the coastal reserve and the number of vehicles are limited. Very popular on weekends and public holidays as well as the holiday season. Best is to plan your visit ahead and go early.
