Warm welcome with hot coffee friendly staff, perfect clean room, clean bathroom. This is one place I will highly recommend to anyone. Exceptional service. This is truly a home away from home.

Upon arrival my husband and I were accompanied to our room by a unfriendly staff member who took us to our room which was btw not the room we initially booked and appeared to be a “drivers cottage” the door was flung open and he turned his back on us and walked away without saying a word. The room was filled with spider webs, hair on the shower walls from previous stays, an empty bar fridge that wasn’t working and also a tv that did not connect. The attitude from the rest of the staff members also left us lost for words.

We had my daughter, Taryn Phillips to Dominic Carvalho’s wedding here at de Opstal, and it was beautiful and great weekend & beautiful memories were had and made by all who attended Matilda and staff were awesome 10/10

Great place. Very very welcoming and friendly . Lovely clean and well appointed rooms ( we even a roll top bath !) beautiful well tended grounds with exceptional service combined into a gorgeous location. Take the meerkat tour it's wonderful

Close to town and the athmosphere is great. Especially loved the breakfast. The firplace in the room also made a very pleasant athmosphere. Very convenient and pleasant services at the bar and the decor really makes for very nice athmosphere. Highly recommended

A really lovely place. At first site a bit antique but it is stylish and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Great outdoor pool and the dinner and breakfast were a real treat. I would come back!

We had an absolute wonderful one night stay at De Opstal during January of 2021. Stunning area, wonderful cozy rooms, hospitable and friendly staff and not to mention the delicious food. Can’t wait to go back for a hopefully longer stay next time!

One of the very best venues in Oudtshoorn for weddings and functions, with a beatiful Chapel with numerous watter features and fire places. The garden is well keep with several open fires and seating during colder weather.

Absolutely beautiful venue but the service unfortunately was horrific to say the least! I have never in my life hear staff or any owner speak to guests in such an ill manner and then expect them to be happy and silent about it. The service we were promised was not the service we received unfortunately. Again, beautiful venue but terrible and unprofessional service.
