Ray's Coffee Shop
We had a delicious breakfast there just before leaving the peaceful town of De Rust. We sat in the garden with the lovely trees watching a herd of sheep cross the road and enjoying the rural atmosphere and beautiful view. The owner and staff are friendly and the food was good though not exceptional. A lovely place to relax.

Would recommend Ray's to all that pass De Rust to enjoy the nice friendly service of the owner and her staff.We were on our way to the Swartburg Pass when we got some sad news, our friends who we were travelling with their father had just passed away in the UK.So the nearest stop was Ray's and they were ever so helpful and comforting towards us ,like family, though we were complete strangers.From here we sat and rescheduled our friends trip and were able to take our time knowing that there was no rush and were in good hands.Hopefully will be able to visit this place sometime in the future.Wishing them all the best.

Ray is such a cool dude and the breakfast and coffee was really delicious. They bake their own stuff, and they do it pretty good! Totally recommend stopping here for a short break on the beautiful veranda outside!

Ray's Coffee Shop
Rays coffee shop is a delightful quaint oasis with a homely welcome. We sat here for tea and where greeted by their kind staff and the owners, the service was phenomenal and the food was excellent. It has a true old school charm to it. I would strongly suggest that anyone passing through this town should stop at Rays for a cup of coffee, and a slice of cake.

We always visit Ray's Coffee Shop when passing through De Rust. Our waiter Granville was professional and gave service with a smile. We enjoy sitting outside on the stoep. I had a Pie with gravy and chips which was delicious. It was clearly a home baked pie. The rest had quiche with salad. Their coffee drinks are on standard and worth the stop over.

Ray’s Coffee Shop is a great place to chill and have a mean burger. The breakfasts are traditional with a good selection. Friendly service is a given at all times and the scenery is nostalgic. Wheelchair accessible entrance as well as wheelchair accessible parking. Good for kids and quick service.

I fancied a slice of Carrot Cake as take-away, bought two because of it looked so delicious, had one already and can't wait for the second slice tomorrow! Highly recommended! Need to return for the Lemon Meringue ...

We ordered pie, chips & gravy which was out of this world! We sat outside under the huge tree while we waited and did some 'people-watching.' Staff very friendly

Fantastic pit stop! Lovely food. Ice cold beer and a comfortable outdoor seating area. Were treated like guests...not customers. Highly recomend.

Fast and friendly service in a nice and relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was really good and well topped off with some of the delicious home made sauces available!! Definitely worth the stop and capping off our weekend on De Rust.
