I had two wonderful experiences with Jo-Ann Stokes. She did our out of the ordinary engagement shoot and she was very game for the strangeness of throwing power paint all over and wow did she manage to capture the most amazing photos. We then got to experience her brilliant photography at our wedding. Going out of her way to capture the most brilliant of memories. I would recommend her to anyone that asks as she is a fun person to get along with as well as knowing what she is doing to capture beautiful memories.

I visited Capetown with my husband from Canada in October this year (2019). I found Jo Ann on Instagram and was very impressed by her photography, friendly personality, willingness to accommodate requests and most of all her responsiveness.When the day of the shoot arrived, I was astonished by her ninja spirit. She climbed over the highest boulders on the Boulders beach and made the shoot with African penguins effortless for us. I met Jo-ann 10 years ago when she took my matriek farewell pictures and I fell in love with her work. So, when Jon and I decided to have our wedding in South Africa (we live in the US), I just knew that I had to have her capture our special day.Through every email with Jo-ann, I was reminded that she cared, listened and was flexible as we had to postpone our wedding for a year due to covid. And when the day finally came, Jo-ann did not miss a beat, she was as invested as we were in creating our timeline, ensuring we had enough time for photos and being able to mingle with our guests.We just loved working with Jo-ann, she made the process of working together very easy and it felt like a true collaboration. In short - Jo-Ann is AMAZING!!!We met her via a referral, shortly before our daughter was born and we booked her for the new born shoot! She and her assistant were so good with our baby girl and she took the most beautiful photos!!We've used her about 4 times since that first shoot and not only will we recommend her to everyone we know, we will keep on going back time and again!!She's not only our photographer she's also become our friend, almost part of the family!! We had our Engagement shoot with Joann! It was absolutely amazing and full of fun!She made us feel so comfortable and relaxed the entire time, guided us through each pose as we were newbies to the whole “shoot” thing.I highly recommend Joann’s service, you won’t regret it!

I chose Jo-Ann as my wedding photographer before I had even chosen a venue, dress or any other wedding-related service. That's how impressed I was with her talent - her eye for ambiance, intimate moments, gorgeous light. And she exceeded all of my expectations! Throughout the wedding planning, she was extremely helpful with suggestions, quick to respond to emails and highly professional. On the day, she was a calm, warm and fun presence. In fact our couple's shoot after the ceremony was probably the highlight of our day! And then when we got to see the final product, we were blown away with how beautifully she had captured it all. I simply have no words.
