Siyabonga took us on the coffee and croissants morning hippo cruise.Don't be mislead, this is more like a full breakfast with hippos! The food was lovely and more than enough, we ended up not going for our planned breakfast afterwards.Siya is a great guide, went out of his way to show us as much as he could along the river, while we sadly didn't see any crocs we saw some great birdlife and had excellent experiences with the hippo pods.We also did a night game drive with Kian, who was very entertaining and incredibly knowledgeable about the park ecosystem. Although it was one of those game drives where we didn't see many animals, Kian made a good attempt to find other interesting nocturnal life, and even pointed out some great celestial landmarks that were showing well.Worth the reasonable cost to do any of Shakabarker's activities.

Evening drive with Sbu and Morning coffee and croissants cruise with Siyabonga were both fantastic. Siyabonga's enthusiasm and knowledge of birds is world-class. Great, friendly and knowledgeable guides, beautiful scenery, and very accommodating of our 4 year old (the catfish were a particular highlight). Highly recommended.

The guide was great, knowledgeable and with a good sense of humour. We spotted lots of hippo but unfortunately no crocs.

We had a great experience with Shakabarker tours. We saw lots of hippos and crocodiles on our boat trip. Kian shared interesting facts about the animals and area. We also had delicious hot drinks and snacks, while enjoying the beautiful sunset. Highly reccommended.

We did the sunset hippo cruise and it was fantastic! Our guide was witty and very knowledgeable of the ecosystem and surrounding areas. We learned a lot of interesting facts while enjoying the hippos almost as close up as you can get.It was nice that the group was kept small which allowed us to ask questions and get to know these magnificent animals!

Absolutely excellent experience with their tour guide JABULANI.He is deeply knowledgeable, enjoys answering questions (and goes into detail), has amazing spotting skills, is really good with his guests , and overall offered a very professional and friendly experience.I was deeply impressed: highly recommended. We booked the hippo & croco tour. The tour was amazing. We saw hippos but didn't see any crocodiles, but still we had a great time. One can say that Kian (guide) is doing his job with passion and love. I recommend booking this trip with Shakabatker Tours.

Did the 3:15 boat cruise which is scheduled to coincide with sunset. Our guide included fascinating information about the area in general and what we specifically saw. This obviously varies with each cruise making it a unique experience. I was advised that Shakabarker was the best cruise to go on due to the knowledgeable guides and the small groups. Although I haven't been on a cruise with all the other companies I can certainly say that the cruise met the high expectations my advisors had set. One thing I particularly liked was that a couple of times the engine was turned off and we had the opportunity to experience Africa around us.
