Amazing landscape! Daniel the mannager is so helpful and kind. Beautiful rooms, perfect to stars watching, excellent wifi and facilities to cook your own meal

This place is beautiful. The houses are comfortable, well equipped, spacious. You will never want to leave!

Was absolutely beautiful! Daniel and the team took great care of us.We’ll definitely come back if we’re around again. Then with two nights.Tip: Come prepared as you have BBQs and all of that ready to be used.The only thing: The way to get to the lodge is quite bumpy indeed sometimes. But it’s part of the adventure. ;)And... don’t use GoogleMaps as recommended by the lodge. (Coming from the west (Hermanus or Kap Agulhas) take the N2 until Swellendam. As described by the house).

Absolutely amazing.Accessible from Riversdale and Swellendam sides.Dirt road in good condition, especially after the rains.Wine tasting and pub/restaurants close by.Wonderful bird life and tranquil surroundings by day and star filled sky by night.

Loadshedding!!!!! Do understand it’s not under your control but a little bit of warning was needed. We were under the impression for the price we paid that there was maybe back up facility for fridge .Booked 2 big chalets for my husbands 60th and daughters 30th were told to bring everything with. Ice water meat etc.Got there in 38 degree heat. The fridges were warm had not been switched on yet and they just started with a four hour loadshedding . Ice in freeze meltedMen extremely disappointed they could not watch the World Cup soccer, could not even stream the game as there was no signal for WiFi when power off again at 6am-8am then again 2pm to 4 pmThen cut out at 6 :15 pm and only back on at 3:30am. Off against at 6-8amMeat went off , No cold drinks as ice long melted , most food like cheese and fruit had to be thrown out.A very disappointing weekend.We no strangers to camping, but if we wanted to go camping we would’ve booked a camp site.. Amount paid for this weekend way more than what it was worth.

False Advertisement False Advertisement False Advertisement..!!!!Please be aware of all the false advertisements you see on AirBnb. We are really happy that we booked that place just for one night. Let’s get to the point.If you do not want to read the whole review this summary might help you.-- Additional R150 for hot-tub wood.-- It is communal hot-tub (in front of 3 or more cottages)-- Even though you booked the hot-tub it is not necessary you will get it. You might end upsharing with someone with their permission even though you paid for it.-- And ZEBRA, it is not a 5 bedroom house it is 1 BEDROOM HOUSE-- The place is really beautiful and river adds more peace and beauty to it-- It will be really good family outingWe were a newly married couple and my wife wanted to go away to the place where they have a hot-tub, after doing a few hours of searching on AirBnb we came across this place which was 250 KM away from us, still went ahead and booked it. As per the “Online” guidelines which is AirBnb, Check-in time is 02:00 PM and checkout time is 11:00 AM, another misleading detail on the AirBnb app, I will tell you in a bit. Finally after 250 KM of driving we got there and met the yard manager. We asked where we can pay R150 (because they mention that it will take 3 hours to heat up) and R150 is a additional cost for hot-tub wood. The yard manager looked at me and said with a flat face, Sorry we can not use the hot-tub because he gave it to someone else, Exactly we were also like WHATTTT??? Our main reason to come here was the hot tub and he gave it to someone else. His excuse was they booked “Online” . What about us, we also booked online?. He goes, he can give it us tomorrow morning, we said please give the property manager number we will speak to her, he gave us the number we spoke to her and very proudly she said “No, I am the only one who books the hot-tub and I booked it for you guys you must use it”, we told that him but nope he said we can not use it. I was furious and frustrated. After sometime my wife went and spoke to the people who “Booked the hot-tub, off course Online”, they were really sweet and they said we can use it as soon as they are done. Thanks to them the evening Drama ended.The next morning, as per the AirBnb you are supposed to Check-out at 11:00 AM, another misleading piece of information as per the yard manager you are supposed to check-out at 10:00 AM. This is not it, My wife had really bad migraine and due to the pain she was resting in a dark space, I told the property manager that my wife has really bad migraine we may leave closer to 11:00 AM but he refused to accept this saying they had another guest coming on a Sunday, he can give us time until 10:15 AM, I was like really?. Though their “Online” AirBnb says they do not take check-in on Sundays. We packed and left by 10:40 AM.So this was our lovely" honeymoon phase 1 as she says. Please be aware before booking this place. The tub is open in front of all the cottages. You will have to walk a minimum 20-30 meters which is in front of everyone's entrance.About the good stuff.This is really beautiful place for a long vacation with family or group of friends as long as you book several of the unit and not just the Zebra Unit. It has almost everything for a ideal destination. If things were clear from the beginning our review would have been different."

Great getaway, the house catered for all our need. Stunning views with sounds of Egyptian Geese and other wildlife. Would have been great to have more than 2 showers for 8 people sharing.

Great place to relax. Free canoes for the river. Lots of space between accommodation. Near De Hoop reserve.
