One of the few TV and HiFi independents left. Staff always helpful although not always ultra friendly. It pays to follow their specials as we got our TV at a bargain price.

Great technical knowledge on what cameras to use and lenses! Doesn't just try and sell you something for the sake of a sale, they find the best solution for you. Great service!!!

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their products.They don't follow you around like flies like some places just to make a sale always on hand to help, if needed.They sell quality products at reasonable prices.Great for browsers whilst the wife spends all the money at Discem next door.

Don't even think of walking into this store. Just don't...This review is long, but worth reading to save you time, money and frustration. Even if you see a price that is cheaper or more reasonable you will better off going and purchasing the same item at Game or Makro than purchasing from Govan Mani La Lucia. You will surely get better customer service elsewhere should the product you purchase stops working or is in need of repair.I learnt this the hard way when I purchased a Philips Iron on the 25/07/2020 for R450. It was more expensive than Game (R399) and I made a very poor decision to purchase from Govan Mani as I was in La Lucia Mall at the time and we needed an iron urgently. Instead of driving to Gateway, I made the unfortunate decision of supporting Govan Mani.The iron stopped working after 2.5 months and I tried numerous plug points at home, but it refused to light up or heat up.Since there is no longer a Govan Mani in Pavilion (learnt that this week...) and Govan Mani in Town is a no no....we had to wait to return it back to the Govan Mani La Lucia Mall store which we did a few days later. I had to purchase an iron in the interim as we still needed to iron our clothes for school/work etc.I returned the iron on the 7/10/2020 back to Govan Mani and was assisted by the original salesperson Jitesh who explained that the iron must be sent in for a technical assessment which I was happy for it to go in.When I asked Jitesh to test the iron in store and process a refund I was told that they don't test the irons in store. He didn’t even plug it in my presence . I was told I will need to wait for the supplier to first pass a credit note to the store and then the store will process my refund.I was even given a repair note stating that the iron would go to Philips. Jitesh made sure all the manuals and contents were returned which was.FYI since I already had purchased an iron, I was not interested in a credit note or a replacement and I was not happy with the lengthy return policy from Govan Mani.I was promised feedback in 2 days which didn't happen. I had to call the store and speak to Jitesh numerous times to get feedback. He promised to call me on Monday as his supplier had not come back to him. Which he didn't. He requested that I send my banking details over email and that I should receive a refund soon..Long story short.I get a call from Jitesh today after 7 days telling me that his supplier asked him to test the iron and he did and now miraculously the iron is working, lighting up and heating up.Jitesh tried to imply that I had returned a working iron. So just to be clear, the iron never left the store for a technical assessment. It was sitting in Govan Mani for over a week. This got me very upset. and I didn't believe this iron was working now and I believe Jitesh and Govan Mani was trying to pass me a replacement iron instead of processing my refund.After a 30-minute argument and back on forth on the phone and me repeated confirming the iron was not working when I sent it in,Jitesh finally admitted that the supplier promised to pass them a credit note if the iron is working intermittently.It was working intermittently it seems and Jitesh tried to confirm with me I had tested the iron before I returned it and if I had used alternative plug points . It seems they don't trust their customers and we are given the run around and the 3rd degree.I have demanded my refund which is getting processed finally but I still wanted to write this review to ensure anyone who is considering purchasing from Govan Mani shops elsewhere

La Lucia mall, remains the best mall in Dirban North. I enjoyed myself here

Terrible after service. You can be fooled by their politeness at point of sale, but should you experience a problem after you have purchased the item then you will see a different side. They are not transparent. It's no wonder their Pavillion store closed down. Lack of customer service and support.

Friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices. I can almost guarantee that you'll find the prices if items they do stock are cheaper than anywhere else. Few examples were a Lowepro camera bag, over 1000 Rand (ZAR) cheaper than elsewhere and the Sennheiser headphones I bought were 600 Rand cheaper than the next cheapest place. Obviously don't expect everything to be 50% off, these are just a couple of items I was interested in. Amazingly these were not even on sale, just their regular prices!

I was not impressed because I purchased a sound bar but when it came to paying, the whole story changed and I suddenly had to pay for an optical cable which the salesman said he would throw it in as part of the deal. Point of principle to keep your word. Little wonder that they are systematically shutting down. No more business from me.
